Gutbucket Jazz?

Post by Blindboy »

Or I forgot to back off of the gain from the previous song. I was NOT getting a jazz tone this night.

I kind of like the overall playing, though.
Man... Haven't been online in a while. Got a lot of catching up to do. It is supposed to snow this afternoon... If the weather chases me inside from my yard chores, I will get caught up with the 12bar...

Interesting rendition with the gain up....gives it an edge. Overall though I think I prefer your more standard version with the cleaner sound :)

To be frank I think your band let you done here. The bass was extremely vague and the others were too busy, but your playing was magnificent. I'm going to have to disagree with TB here I loved the tone you got, sort of like a Hammond organ looking for a fight. Reminded me of some of the seminal guitar tones you hear on Tom Waits albums. Your playing was spunky, tuneful, threatening and just what I want to hear from a bluesman. Respect to you sir.

Thanks for the listen Tytleblues... you know, I prefer the cleaner sound on this tune too, but it was fun riding herd on the Casino and tweed.
Choucas, thanks for generous compliments. :shy:
In my bands' defense, we never practice, and it is hard to hear each other on stage. :icon_whoknows:

I think the sound works fine - interesting to get an alternate take on it. Very skilled the way you've managed to keep in jazzy and musical sounding despite all the gain.

The combination of you + Casino + P90s has to increase chances of a good sound whatever the settings.
