Just inspired by a sci-fi novel

Post by vancouverois »

After reading a sci-fi novel where cathedrals follow their holly star at noon by walking :D
A bit floydish I guess, sci fi is like the freedom of mind.

If someone make a film/movie on the book this music could be a intro to the film/movie. Well done. And now I'm inspired by you. I think this is a kind of music that fits my mood att the moment, and I like it. Lot of delay makes it flow.

Nice job VC!

Yes - Floydish - the chord progression makes it so - and the keyboard in the BT is SO Richard Wright (sadly missed and such a major contributor to the "Floys" sound) it would be very difficult not to move into that territory whatever you do on the guitar. Very good moody guitar playing BTW - the recording would make a good musical soundtrack to a film of the novel.

Thanks guys for the kind comments, I really appreciate! :D

Here is a video clip of moving planets and universe with the audio
embedded in, not exactely the gist of the novell but still a bit space
oriented. I just did it for fun, as I discovered that Audition can
handle video files and mix music to them.

The video continues after the end of the music, just to let the
galaxies graciously moving and also for the pleasure of the eyes.

Thanks :D

The guitar is a Strat on the bridge pickup, amp (Vox Tonelab emulation) is a Fender Twin
on clean settings. Between the Strat and the Tonelab, there was a Big Muff type of
pedal, a Large Beaver built on the Triangle specifications, boosted by a Tube Screamer TS10.

The delay is from the Tonelab built in effects, the reverb was added later in Audition.
I record directly the output of the Tonelab into the "Line In" of an external USB sound card
running on my Win7 laptop.
