Here's Where I Go
I've been busy again this evening. I jotted a few words down in America then finished them and came up with this complete song tonight. It is called Here's Where I Go, it's about me and I wanted to get across a feeling of being alone and a solitary mood, hope that comes across. Not sure if I can say I'm happy with it as it's a sad song but the outcome is satisfactory.

Re: Here's Where I Go
It is obviously a deeply personal song and I think it's a good thing to voice these sort of feelings if you have them. Not easy to put deep feelings into words without it sounding less than it should be but I feel you've done a good job with them.
I was surprised to hear you playing acoustic - maybe you've posted some before, but I can't recall it. But then I struggle to remember a lot of things these days.
Well played acoustic with a strong rhythmic pulse - chord changes match the mood. The combination of acoustic and electric works well - your choice of notes on the solo clearly undelines the feelings of the song. I like the long pause / breath the music takes between verses - adds to the effectivesness somehow.
A very strong and musical statement.

Re: Here's Where I Go
Thanks VB, I wanted the same sort of feel to the song as Greeny's "Out Of Reach or "Closing My Eyes". I had no idea what I was going to play on the solo, I think it took 3 takes, the first two finding out where to go and the third what you hear just fell out. If I'm going to have these feelings I might as well put them to good use and if I can get songs like this out of it then it's not all bad I suppose.
I've played acoustic before on 2 songs but I don't think I put them on SoundClick. I will get them uploaded there and show you them.
Glad you liked, this is one of few songs I've recorded that I actually listened back to myself a few times and liked it.

Very nice!
Good vocals (I wish I could sing ), good playing, excellent use of spaces, killer composition.
Good job... I can tell you have been woodshedding.
PS... Good to see you back on 12bar.

Re: Here's Where I Go
Thanks BB, glad to be back too.
The more times I listen to this song, the more I find fault with it. I think the acoustic could have been recorded better for starters and the second part of the solo needed more reverb. Does the ending work? Not too sure. What it definitely needs is some form of drums to fill the space out a bit.
How would you improve it if it were your song?
