I convert a Spanish guitar into a resonator. It works well but the donor was a plywood wreck.
I have learn a lot of the technique of the reso guitar. But i love the shining steel ones. Oke i own a perfect welding machine but to build a complete steel reso from scratch is one bridge to far. So i go to the scrapyard and after telling my story and show them some picture of formal projects they allow me to look at the stainless steel and aluminum scrap containers. And look what i came up with.
If the pizza plate didn't work ore is to week i allso get my hands on an rice steam cooker. (two pans 1 for the water cooking up to steam and an bit smaller perforated one who fit in the 1e)

Thanks guy's This is a small project and i think it wil be finished soon. As allway's i have the stuff in stock and the technical solutions in my head HBL give me a nice single coil and that i gonna use in the neck position. In the first reso project i have placed a small speaker out of headphone and it work very well And as you all know a headphone has two speakers I will place one in this one to so i have a natural acoustic sound and a electric as well. The construction is almost similar on an Banjo. More pictures after Christmas.
This guitar is from a young guy who play with his brother Bass and sister ( age 13 years ) on drums. some times there dad join them om blues harp

You have a lot of creative fantasy. It's realy a enginers job you have done. I bet it took you long time and lot of hard work to do this guitar. It's not easy, I guess.
It is been a while that i keep you informed about my steel reso project. In the time between to day i have build project for a guy that desperately want a CBG. He ask me if i would build a 3string. and i did I will post some info in a new topic.
Today i finished the steel reso. fase 1. I have tested the sound as an "normal" acoustic guitar. To morrow i gonna put some sound samples over here. The reso system is not used yet It is ready but before i cut a hole into the cover a want to know the sound as it is now. The bridge foot is to big and i gonna shape it bit by bit (slimmer) It sounds bright but warm and heavy. The neck is a Strat copie and play nice. The action is a bit to high because i want to use a slide on a normal tuning. The construction is good and stable, and after testing i am gonna build in a acoustic pup
and an single coil in the neck including volume and tone pot and a switch between the pup's
For now playing shaping the bridge, and start polishing
