Leadbelly's "Easy Rider"
I recently acquired a really clean
Squire Telecaster w/some crappy,
noisy pups
So I took a chance and ordered
the GFS Lil Puncher pup set from GuitarFetish.com
along w/some push/pull pots and new knobs
http://www.guitarfetish.com/Calibrated- ... p_150.html
and upgraded it 2 a really nice sounding
instrument w/both pups split
w/the push/pulls I get a wide variety of usable
sounds out of this baby now
I worked up this Leadbelly blues tune
2 try and highlight
the different sounds
http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=11255393
Using the GNX4 w/a Carvin V3 blues preset model,
on the intro solo & the fills i'm playing both pups
w/the neck in hum mode and the bridge on SC mode, the
1st part of the first solo is bridge hum, and the second
half is neck hum. The outro solo is both pups in hum mode
Check it out and give me some feedback

Re: Leadbelly's "Easy Rider"
Nice track B2M
and nice sound guitar ... the work has paid off !
3 or is it 4 very usable tones .. subtely different , I particularly like the opening solo "Angry Bee " tone and then the part around 1.30-1.45 is almost tubescreamer like and very effective.
Good guitar !
Singing aint so bad either !

As always a great tune, B2M. I like the way those Barden clones sound, man. Vocals are excellent, also.

Very good pup choice you've made B2M. Great tones - well played and sung too so the whole song is a joy to listen to.
If the likes of GFS and Tonerider can produce such good sounding pickups at budget price then the prices charged for replacement pups start to really look like robbery.

I've had GFS pups in one of my Teles, not Barden clones, but a hotter Tele bridge pup and a Humbucker neck pup. I was pleased with them.

Re: Leadbelly's "Easy Rider"
Great song, great playing, beautiful guitar.
I always enjoy your postings, B2M.
One reason I like blues music is because a lot of it takes me back to my young days.
I can remember dancing at the teen club to the Chuck Willis version of C. C. Rider. The two best girl dancers were my science teacher's daughter and the preacher's daughter.
Man, your playing takes me right back there.
