Open for Collab, Slow Blues in G

Post by fenson »

Recently post a picture of 'Big Red Ma' my Momose ES335...
To day I pluged BRM into my beloved Ceriatone 50W 2x12 cab.
A 12 bar chords progression intro played thru the loop pedal
that allow me to solo over and over again!

Then  it could be a idea to propose a collab over that loop...
Starts with the loop, then I play the first chorus, then it's your turn... Yet I've played the last chorus too ;-)
Hope you'll enjoy :icon_whoknows:

Jazz is way out of my league, but I'll give it a try. We can extend it if anyone else will join...
You've set the level quite high

Unfortunately I can't tell you when I have time - we're all at home (shutdown) and I don't have a room for me and my guitars.
Half of my job has to do with Internet, e-learning, Moodle and web administration so home office is not lawn mowing

I'm quite sure our beloved pentatonic works very well on that loop!
Fortunatly I've never really be in the business life... And I'm now retired... I'm an old man!
Take care of yourself, your familly first, such a collab is not a big hurry :D
Thanks for your appreciation, indeed

I tried to play this and that, but nothing really worked. Today I deleted all of it and started over after hearing that there ain't no sunshine anymore. Chords are different, but somehow some notes might fit. Sorry for not being able to add better playing... :icon_whoknows:

Simply a very good idea, really!
Need some more rehearsal to correctly fit.
Don't stick to close to ain't no sunshine, either for melodic line or rhythm. Jazz or Blues that's the same, just pick an idea, a lick, a phrase and make it yours... Then you can use it whatever the chord progression is, that's it! :icon_whoknows:
yet you did a good job to my ear

"Silent Rehearsal Method" Jorma Kokonen patented  :
Use your arm; your left hant on your right wrist figuring fretboard. Draw your scale, chords etc...
At the same time fingers of your right hand are free to draw picking... Play in your head, that's help for both ear training and fretboard knowledge.
Jorma said!

Still I'm using this technique in train, bus or plane...

I've kept meaning to try something with this idea and then another weeks gone by.
Still working (food industry) and despite the lockdown I seem to have even less time than usual. 30 April sees my last day before retirement. Maybe I'll get a chance after that?? Apologies for my absence from the forum.

Well played track Fenson - it sounds really good  , and it's a good challenge too - at a simple level lends itself to Dorian and in the brief times I've managed to play along with it I've managed to (here and there) make some sensible note runs.

A lot of your "SlowG" follow up worked well Gerd!

So, I seem to have been motivated by my earlier visit to the forum to pick up an electric guitar (Hagstrom Viking Deluxe) and play.
Probably the first time for 6 months for an electric!

I started once I remembered the wiring connections for the SCXD amp and the Weber Micromass. Not to mention where I'd stored the Weber.
The first free part flew by, the second free section is twice as long, but seemed like more than that as I ran out of steam.
It's just an initial vague stab, but i thought I'd post it just for the record. Not that what i played really ties in with your sections Fenson - sorry.

:music2: I'm SO out of practice.

Do really like your second section :handshake:
In a short while you'll be having enough time to get back into practice
Thanks for posting

Glad you both thought it passed the inspection!
It felt a bit weird playing an electric, and also playing in standard tuning.
I must dip more into this sort of thing when i become a man of leisure.

    Pretty  Mr Tytiblues, hope someday we'll jam live, Thank back for posting this one!
About my jazz chops  everyday practice for a bunch of years only based on simplicity: playing the scale, harmonizing the scale I'm playing...
That's it :icon_whoknows:
(About your signature sentence, playing different voicing of 3 chords :haha:  )

Beautifully played Tytl and a great fit to go with Fensons playing.

Sorry it's taken me so long to hear this / comment on it. The last couple of weeks have been very, very, very busy.
