Semi-Acoustics & the input jack
Hi guys,
Any hints and tips for tightening a jack socket on a semi-acoustic (other than getting a tech to do it!).
Can't just twist it of course as the wiring might not take it.
Need something I guess to grab things round inside the f-holes - but I'm struggling for ideas.

At the end of the video, there is a hint to get the jack well tight.

That would appear to work.
Certainly worth a go, and a bit cheaper than a 50 mile round trip plus a tech's fee.

Using that adjustable wrench is SCARY !!!
But I like how he used the coat hanger to hold the plug. Never thought of that !

Good info in that vid. Thanks!
My Alleykat has the input jack at the end of body, Les Paul style. But my Epi dot has that traditional style on top (and I dig having it on top, easier when sitting down), but hasn't gone loose yet... if it would, I guess I'd super glue it... the input jack on my tele does give me hassle sometimes, though...

Re: Semi-Acoustics & the input jack
I use two way,s to fasten the Jack.
1e: a snap ring pliers. It work the back way when you pinch the plier opens in stead of closing and had round ends!
2e: The simple way i use is a plastic wall plug with a screw in it Put the screw into the wall plug and twist it in a couple of rounds. Place the plug into the jack hole en use a smal plier to hold it en screw some more till the plug holds into the inner side and it will stay in place when you fasten it.

Shame the local music shop (one of the good ones too!) came up with none of these possibilities!
