WOW!!!

Looks great ...... Sounds great ...... Played great !!!!!!!!
A Japanese built Tokai is an excellent buy. Hope you have a long lasting relationship for years and years.

That's an impressive signal chain .... I'd need a notebook to keep a track of all the settings. But I bet I'd make it sound a mess!

Always get a pang of regret when I see a Japanses Tokai Les Paul style - I once had one such new Japanese girlfriend (the lovely "Shiraz") and everything was magical for a few years. An LC85 if i recall based on the custom and wine red - hence the name I called her. Suddenly one day something missing, and in no time at all the magic was gone. It wasn't her fault - I listened to her played by someone else and she sounded beautiful. It's the only time that has happened to me and I hope it's the last! I've not given any guitar a name since then.
A look back to the past of 2009 when she still sang for me,

Well, thanks again VB!
Just a travel pedal board... Just used Timeline, Zendrive, Boost and HOF verb for that sound test other pedal was bypass'd
Your "Shiraz" sang well, I bet you still miss her sometimes...

I think it's only when I hear / see someone with a Japanese Tokai Les Paul that I'm reminded.

The way my finger joints are these days  i couldn't do all those bends needed for electric blues - therefore i couldn't play one fully if i had it - so that eases the pang of regret pretty well.

:oldie: At least you can play slide!

You're right, getting older is no fun. But the alternative isn't better. :naughty:

I can play fingerstyle acoustic with no bends, and altered and open tunings make for less strain on left hand finger joints.
The more open string notes the less work for the fingers.

I'm very happy with all that - given what happened to my Dad having to give up playing piano due to arthritis I wasn't expecting I'd still be able to play guitar at this age.

So I'm happy with my lot, though the way i worded the above post maybe didn't sound like that.

You're quite right - the alternative to getting older isn't better!
