Ibanez Artcore AF75T - Possible Buy

Post by microtech »

I just bought a Classic Vibe 50's Tele, but I saw this posting and thought, damn, this seems like a good deal. I haven't every played any Ibanez guitars, but this model seems to have good reviews and with burstbuckers I bet it sounds quite nice.

I may go check it out on Wednesday, but I wanted to get some opinions on the guitar first if anyone has any.

Thanks.

I have an AF75, stock, without the Bigsby, and it is a nice guitar. I got it slightly used (still had the plastic film on the pickguard) for $200, so $400 with the Gibson pickups and the Bigsby is probably a good buy. I play mine quite a bit and like it a lot.

Cool, thanks for the info. A hard case is worth a bit as well.

Ibanez are a well made guitar ..nicely finished too ..........I looked seriously at an artcore AS103 in vintabge sunburst a while back

Construction wise I could not fault the guitar , great inlays etc , nice binding & generally well made , rather a narrow fretboard for my liking and proably more suited to Jazz than Blues tbh.

When I was trying it I did learn that ibanez generally is a make adopted by metal players and ...............as the guy in the shop descibed it to me ....'shredders'

Not that there is anything wrong with that.............each to their own.

I did'nt but the Ibanez in the end ...only because I upped my budget as I fell in love with a Gibson ES339......................end of contest I'm afraid.

I think you gotta play it and see how it feels and sounds .....it looks the business mind !! Great colour !

Ibanez hard case for those isn't all that good, IIRC.

I've seen a friend play one of that model live, his has P94s. Sounds good, plays very nicely. Almost bought a red one in 2003.

Of course Ibanez is for shredders. But the Artcore are a true revolution. Hollowbodies for under $1000 were still rare before these came. And I think the Ibanezes playe nicer than Epiphones (yes, I have an Epi instead, but think Ibanez are better bang for buck in general)

Never played an Artcore. I would buy one without even playing it. The lightning bolt inlay on the headstock is enough to make me covet one.
