How about some "milking a cliché" collabs?

Post by weelie »

I was thinking it might be fun to do collaborations (or just separate tracks, even on different backing tracks) on milking some blues cliches. It could be run so that we give points to people who posted their version and the eventual "winner" then posts a new cliche to milk?

I mean clichés like the Chuck Berry / T bone walker move:
-----3-
-----3-
-5^---

Blues has a lot of stock licks, but if given a free hand, everybody would play them a bit differently, and it would be fun explore that?

Just an idea... :)

 I think it's a good idea, no i'm sure :D

I , and many others, can learn more from the playings sounds (stuff in real live) + the book, then from the book only.
play guitar like the wind, mysterious but definitely present....
