Can't stop listening to Autumn Leaves from the new EC album, goes on repeat for periods of time. Has any of you great ears out there tabbed it– or is just the original chords?

As you haven't had any answers, I'll jump in. I haven't heard EC's version (should be getting CD for Christmas), but would imagine that he uses standard chords (jazzy) in Am7. I love improvising to the chords, which I've put on my looper in the key of Em7. I love the structure of this and other jazz standards to noodle blues to. :oldie:

...I also love this tune as it is really good to learn something about harmony (chord structures and their inversions, scales, arpeggios etc.)... and you can noodle around until your cat gives milk as it is in Gmaj/Emin only w/o any key change... here's a take of when I tried out several chord forms and inversions I learned... still have to do that with arps, but I do have to listen to a lot of jazz before... didn't even know how to properly comp here, I heard Freddie Green turned in his grave... also, Jimmy Bruno (great Jazz guitar player!!!) told me it's not only important to comp correctly, but also not to use those kind of chords when I posted this vid on his site asking for feedback - 3-note chords w/ minimal root movement are the tools of the trade... however, it's still nice to practice chords and inversions in the framework of a original tune...

Autumn Leaves is a cracking song .. and Clapton's version is top notch. I searched for ages to find a tab online .. but none of them are Clapton's version and I can't find it in any tab books or EC's stuff either . :icon_whoknows:
In the end I bought a tab from www.musicroom.com for about £3.00 I think .. and its not a bad tab ... has both solo's tabbed out quite well.
The tab runs to 13 pages.. so its pretty full on

This tab shows it as being in the key of "D" and the chord sequence goes (Often the chords shown are not played as full chords but just used as arpeggio's or notes takeen from the inicated chord)
Intro..
Bm / No Chord/ Em7/ A7/ C#m7b5 / Bm / Bm / Em7 / A7 / Dmaj7 /G7 /Cm7b5 / Bm /
Verse Starts
Chorus
Bm / F#7sus4 / F#7 / Bm/ Em7 / A7sus4 A7 / Dmaj7 / Dmaj 7 / C#m7b5 / F#7sus4 F#7 / Bm /G7 / F#7 / Bm

first solo is acoustic

2nd solo is electric

I've simplified the chords a bit for my use as a Strum/ sung song ... and i think it sounds pretty cool ..although I say it myself ! :D

If you have any questions feel free to ask .. I'm not tabbing the whole thing out as that would breach the copyright ( I'm probably doing that anyway with the chord list but hey !!.. smacked legs for me !!) and I only bought it for "personal use" .. but I;ll tab bits if yr stuck

Bon Chance !

EC by all means but I like this better. I associate jazz on the way the drums are used and with the trumpet and saxophone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gsz3mrnIBd0
