Hi
Does anyone have any info or a copy of Layla used in the Vauxhall car ads back in the 80's / 90's.
I sure it was a version recorded by Dave "Clem" Clempson
It starts at 36 seconds

Thanks

Layla was used for Opel/Vauxhall since the 80's, but I never heard that it wasn't EC who played it. It's too short to identify, could be any player.
Where did you get your info?
I prefer this car ad:

I remember an interview with him (Clem) back in the early 90's when he explained the recording and layering of the guitars.

Talking of Layla ... I first heard this (instrumental) version on a Spanish radio station a couple of years back but still have no idea who actually did it. Great playing ... any ideas guys?

There is a 2012 Opel ad serie on the French TV, and they always end
with a guitar riff that reminds me of Layla or something close.
A bit in the same vein as mentionned earlier.
Here's one of them, the riff is around 0:27.
