Amazing finds on Youtube

Post by LeftyCanuck »

Came across this randomly... not sure how I've never seen it before. Can't imagine why it got cut from the album. WAY better than the version on Pilgrim. Works much better without the 'reggae' feel. I LOVE the bridge part.

Any other brilliant finds out there?

I'm sorry LC for messing your post :away: ... this here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JazGHYDwp-s doesn't got anything to do about EC's playing or blues in generally.
But I know we all here respect talent, so that's why... and maybe a bit me being patriotic
Anyway m8s, keep in tunes :lefty:

There are many great recordings from EC never being released. The Nothing but the Blues tour usually is the first coming to mind, but also the Rolling Hotel from the 70's, when EC played with so much soul although he was completely down due to drugs and alcohol:

Circus is another unplugged song which didn't make it onto the record and no one knows why:

I really like the Rolling Hotel footage.
Any idea where to find the DVD, I had no luck with the major online sellers like Amazon and others.

Here's another from the Rolling Hotel... although the wah is a nice touch, I definitely prefer the post-drinking EC's playing... ok, well, the pre-heroin playing too....

No surprise - it was never released. You might find some boots at the usual places (most in bad quality), but no official version.

Another killer sone from that one:

The "When did you leave Heaven" clip is beautifully played and sung and sounds as if it's really from the heart, but hell - EC really looks like he's in a bad way.

Hey 12 bar, I believe I've heard you mention an ill fated blues tour somewhere. Care to elaborate for us newbies that just learned to appreciate Clapton more recently? I've found a couple "bootleg" Clapton "blues concerts" and also seen tickets stubs of Clapton playing a blues show at Buddy Guys back in the 90s (if i remember correctly). I've seen Clapton live several times now but think seeing a pure blues show would just be the most amazing thing ever.
Let me tell you what the blues is....

I mayl write a summary about this later - it was the "Nothing But The Blues Tour" 94/95, the tour for his From The Cradle album. Many fans say he has never played better than on this tour. Try to get this one: http://www.geetarz.org/reviews/clapton/ ... _blues.htm - it will turn every Blues lover into a Clapton fan. There's also a movie about this - luckily broadcasted once in Germany (I taped it).
See http://www.geetarz.org/reviews/clapton/ ... master.htm
GET IT!
Some songs are on Youtube.
