Theme Song To Your Life?

Post by MikeJackal »

After the popularity of the Greatest Solo thread I thought I would try this one out.

What songs would you choose as the theme song to your life?

Not exclusively blues but I would presume most peoples would be along those lines on this forum.

I think a limit of two per person makes it a sensible post.
Here are my two and reasons why.
Steve Gaines - One In The Sun (Of Lynyrd Skynyrd)
The lyrics of this song have always meant a lot to me, i've struggled with a lot of personal problems (who hasn't) and this song has always seemed to mirror my frustrations in life.
A truly great song written before he joined Lynyrd Skynyrd and its a shame we never got to hear more from his obvious talent.

John Mayer - Stop This Train
My second choice is by the wise and talented John Mayer, again chosen because of the lyrics. I have a great fear of growing older and my loved ones no longer being around so this song has always portrayed that in such a beautiful way to me.

I look forward to hearing all of yours.
"You Only Live But Once, When Your Dead Your Done...So Let The Good Times Roll" - B.B. King
"I'm So Lonesome I Don't Even Have Me No Friend, I've Done So Much Crying Will I Ever Laugh Again" - Peter Green

No theme song for my life, but when I fall off my perch, I want 'While my guitar gently weeps', with George Harrison playing the lead
There would be different themes for different periods of my 64 years (Blues, Rock, Jazz). For now let's say Mark Knopfler's 'Brothers in Arms'. :icon_whoknows:
"Big Bill Broonzy, a white boy's inspiration" (1963), and the Blues ever since.

Great idea. I'll give my second choice a bit of thought but for number one, Nowhere Man.
In the name of God, Eric Clapton and the Slowhand, Amen.

I also found a song on youtube that attentiond my, Home by Michael Bublè, because i learning in my lessonbook the jazzy way of playing, i was looking on youtube to learn more about the ladder theye use.
I found this one and i liked it.

If you put in the part of the YouTube reference that is after the = sign.

So, for example, "On5372UztI0" instead of "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=On5372UztI0"

There were many times I feared that this was my song - then I met Sandra:-
It_pqlsF56A
Strange how someone now so obsessed with guitar should have been so in tune with the music of a group with no guitarist.

I know of no song joyful enough to do justice to the quality of my life "post-Sandra". Though i fear the way life tends to balance things out over time.

These last few years, this one pretty much wraps it up...

This isn't really a shameless plug... this is the only version I have access to at the moment.
I am having trouble getting the soundclick widget to work. I must not be copying and pasting right.
