Mayall, Whittington, Clapton

Post by VikingBlues »

I enjoyed this bit of playing I encountered on YouTube.

Maybe new to some of you?

"Have you heard about my Baby" at John Mayalls 70th birthday concert in July 2003. This video is the second part of the song and has very fine solos from Buddy Whittington and Eric Clapton.

I have the dvd, its a really good one, the first few songs feature Mick Taylor, then Clapton comes out later in the show. Some excellent guitar playing by both Taylor and Clapton, really noticed how Mick Taylor would really take his time building the intensity of his solos also some great slide playing from Mick, Clapton was very good on this also but Buddy is just a monster player! Well worth the cost of the dvd!! Dan

Needless to say I have this DVD, too, and watched it over and over when it came out. Thanks for the reminder!
