I just found out who's playing at my local blues festival this year, and I don't know any of them...
Can anyone help me out? They are mostly American or UK acts so I'm hoping someone will know of them, and tell me who I can't miss (and if there are any I should miss )
The main performers are;
Omar and the Howlers (Texas)
Watermelon Slim (Oklahoma)
Larry Garner (Louisiana) with Norman Beaker band (UK)
King King (UK)
Indigenous (Sth Dakota)
Chris Bergson with Bruce Kats (New York)
Stephen Finn (UK)
Chris Smither (New Orleans)
Kent DuChaine & Leadbessie (Georgia)
Clarence Bucaro (Ohio)
So any tips? Anyone heard of any of these guys? We've had people like Walter Trout and Coco Montoya in the last couple of years, but no-one I recognise this time around.
Here's the link to the full skinny;

I checked out "Indigenous" and they sound very good to me, so I guess there's one I'd like to see.
Looking for info on blues acts...

IMHO King King are not to be missed, especially if you like John Mayall and early EC, Fleetwood Mac when they were a real band!!
"Big Bill Broonzy, a white boy's inspiration" (1963), and the Blues ever since.

Thanks Bluesmole, I just checked out their website, they sound very similar to Joe Bonamassa, and that's very good.

Omar Dykes and his band the Howlers have been playing around here (Austin, TX) since the '70s. For his latest project he teamed up with Jimmy Vaughn to make a tribute album of Jimmy Reed songs called "On the Jimmy Reed Highway". He spends a lot of time touring Europe and there are a lot of YouTube videos of Omar at various festivals and venues. I've always liked his music.

I have never seen him live, but I would not want to miss "Watermelon Slim".... Great Blues sound and a VERY interesting way of playing slide.
