Free Instructions On the Internet

Post by Golfxzq »

:xmas_1: Merry Christmas to all...

I know that we all like to watch those "freebie" internet instructors on YouTube or if you get their email. All of these guys are trying to sell their services but there are tons of tips and tricks to be had for free. Which ones do you like and which ones are you not so fond of? Here are some that I'm aware of, do you know of others that you can share?

Griff Hamlin - A good instructor, pretty patient and explains things well. He's a little long winded but I don't really mind that as long as he gives me enough detail to follow along and try to learn something. http://bluesguitarunleashed.com/bluesguitar.php

Marty Schwartz - He's about my favorite. He's very detailed, sometimes to a fault, but that's OK with me. I can wade through the basic stuff. http://www.guitarjamz.com/members/

Robert Renman - Pretty good but he just shows you what he's doing, slows it down a bit and explains it once more and that's it. Not a lot of detail so he's a little harder for me to follow but that's OK, he's a good instructor. http://www.dolphinstreet.com/

Jonathan Boettcher - Again, pretty good. Sometimes he glosses over the details. He isn't as polished as some of the other instructors. I usually get a lot out of his lessons but I have to dig for it. http://www.guitartipsweekly.com/3-guita ... exercises/

John Tuggle - Of the Gibson Learning Guitar Now series. He is a bit advanced for me right now. He just zips through stuff and expects you to get it. http://www.learningguitarnow.com/

Steve Krenz - Of the Gibson Learn & Master Guitar series. I like this guy, he is very patient and explains every detail. His video's are very professional. He covers a lot of stuff besides Blues but that's OK, it's all good. http://www.learnandmaster.com/guitar/pa ... uctor-bio/

Dan Denley - He is very professional but you have to wade through all his promotional stuff just to get to one or two little nuggets of information. Mostly what he does is promote his lessons. http://guitar-tips.blogspot.com/

:oldie:

I agree with you about Griff, he is the only one I have experience in addition to Justin Sandercoe http://www.justinguitar.com/
He is very good and pleasant to listen to. You can choose to learn to play blues from the beginning in a good way.
Just choose Blues in the left menu on his page. He has more than 500 free lessons on his site.

:oldie: Merry Christmas to you to :oldie:

You have the best ones listed I reckon Golfxzq..and some of the Freebies are well worth having .. even if only as little reminders - Marty is always good value !

My 2 favorites right now ...

Justin Sandercoe is well worth a look ....
http://www.Justinguitar.com
.............his site is free. However, he does request a donation if you use it............. .which is fair enough.

He has a new-ish Blues Rhythm series of lessons and a set of Lead lessons too .as well a Lead Series plus lessons on pretty much everything else !
He also does a webcast at 2000 hrs every Thursday .. which can be ok ( Depends on how Justin is ! and the topic ...he can ramble a bit!)

If you get the Gibson Newsletter That gives you access to their "Skills House" which is relatively new ... and contains lessons from Steve Krenz ( Free) and songs instruction and tabs ..all good stuff and its building into quite a resource..................and you don't have to own a Gibson !! .but its nice if you do !
Steve Krenz also does a weekly webcast
