Did a lot of driving this weekend and my travelling companion for most of it was Peter Greens "The Anthology" .. brilliant boxed set.

Had the boxed set for a couple of hears now and listened occasionally
But, Listening again with plenty of time to appreciate each tune .....it was lovely ( its a great $cd set btw)

Two tracks really resonated with me and I'd really love to lay my hands on a simple guitar tab ...........I don't want every last note ...........
a decent chord progression would be a great help
or
"its a Standard 12 bar Blues in key of '" ?'""

anything to get me going ......

tracks are "Dead Shrimp Blues"

and

"Love in vain Blues"

appreciate any help either Peter's version or the RJ original

Thanks

May be this pdf excerpt of RJ Love in vain Blues can help. According to the comments RJ plays this song in open tuning.

Thanks Vancouverois, thats a great help

Not sure I want to go down the open 'G' route ..( I always thought that was a 'slide' tuning ??) .......remembering chords is ok in standard .......learning a whole new set of chords shapes ....h'mm !!

Love the EC clip ..what / where is that from ??/

I have the "sessions for RJ" cd and there is a dvd disk in that but I don't recall this song. But the room and the view from the window look similar !!??

I found this, but there is also a version of Bob Dylan available. Hope you can use it.

I looked for the PG version on You Tube and play some notes with the track. I played D / G / A/ on that version, I do some improvisation. If you set your fingers in the D position (2e and 3e fret) and move it to the 5e and the 7e position( like a slide in open D But without changing the finger position) PG do some improvisations at the upper3 strings in the meanwhile.

PG is a master in making simple thinks sounded complex   and complex things Simpel

Result from 12bar itself again. We seek far and wide and sometimes the answers are right here!

... and the simple things need to be played with perfect intonation, timing and touch, or the magic vanishes. Like Man of the World - quite a simple structure but such well chosen notes, and if it's played at all sloppily it sounds like nothing instead of a cry from the heart.
