Re: Epiphone '61 SG Special P90 50th Anniversary
Nice SG, looks really good and really liked the sound clips! Can't go wrong with Lollar P90s, I have two p90 guitars and have lollar p90s in both, 50s wind in one and an underwound in the other and they both sound really good noticeably better than the pick ups they replaced, much clearer and more b...

Re: Here we go again, new band!
Thought I'd post a little update, everything is going really well and moving along at a nice steady pace. We tried out a drummer today, went really good, young guy in his early 20s, he plays in a rock band but really wants to explore the blues. He didn't overplay or play to loud, seemed to have a go...

Here we go again, new band!
Some of you may remember a while back I posted that I was starting a band and after a short time everyone was flaking out on it so I pullled the plug. Tried to get it going again with the drummer and some guys he knew but no go. So I saw an ad on my local craigeslist, wanted 2nd guitar for blues. I ...

Re: Wheres My Keys V.2
Thanks VB, I think the first version was a little busy in some ways, I think my phrasing was better in v2, I smoothed out the rhythm a bit also. Again thanks! Dan

Wheres My Keys V.2
Hey Guys, so I posted my take on the old Chicago blues classic key to the hyway a while back. It was ok but just wasn't quite happy with it, so went back and re did it, I think its much improved now. So hope you like it! Thanks . Dan

Re: My Hot Rodded Blues Junior
Very cool badblueplayer! Sounds really good , looks cool too, I have a blues jr 3 have thought about putting it into a bigger pine cab, just not sure if I want to put that much money into it, i've heard that the bigger cab alone will really help open them up tone wise. Nice job on all the work! Dan

Re: Gibson SG Classic P90
VB sorry to hear your struggling with the sg, I have a couple of P90 guitars, I know P90s can be somewhat bass heavey and thicker in the mids esspecially the neck pickup, and like you I also prefer to play pretty clean or with just a little od. both of my P90 guitars I have swapped the pickups out f...

Re: School Girl Blues
Thanks Tom, glad you like the tune! Well the band thing is going pretty slow, basicly pulled the plug on it, guys not showing up or really working on the tunes. The drummer and myself are talking about starting over with some different guys but we haven't really started looking yet. Have been hittin...

Re: GAS>>>>Help!!!
VB we do both go for simalar tones, don't know why I go more for clean tones than overdriven tones just seems to suit me better. And like you I think the clean channell on the xd just seems to sound more natural or real I'm not sure maybe I hear a bit of digital something in the 2nd channell. I don'...

Re: Embarassing gig moments
I have had more than I can remember also, I think after you get comfortable playing out live you just shrug all those oopps moments off plus usually no one else even notices. Once was given music for a tune we were playing at a conference of course the sheet I was given was in a different key than e...

Hey Tom, I have a super champ xd have had it for a few years now, its a nice little amp. I really only use the clean channel and the only fx I use is the reverb but it sounds really good. I changed the speaker in mine first put an eminence legend 1058 in it sounded good maybe a little brite, then la...
