Ouch! Thanks VB. Always encouraging to see how much can be done in spite of huge challenges. No worries there about building up his pinky.

Re: New music - Warren Haynes - Man in Motion
Tedeschi/Trucks are playing this August here in Fort Collins where I hide out. I'm hoping Haynes will just show up (dream on). This concert is out in the street in old town and is free! Don't think you can just walk up to the stage and see them clearly though. There are oceans of people at these thi...

There's always more than one way to skin a cat! Skydogjr hits it on the nail- "The main thing is spend a lot of time playing". You gotta play and practice and play until you almost hate the sounds you're making. Then one day it will all click! Even when you think you've finally figured sli...

Re: The Best Thing I Ever Did To My Guitar
The best thing I ever did to a guitar was buy a two dollar raffle ticket for a cheap model Epi Les Paul at the Winter Park Colorado Blues Festival last Spring. Won it too! Put a set of Classic '57 Reissues in it and it's a keeper!
I suppose playin' 'em is the best thing to do to any of 'em.

One arm with one arm tied behind his back! On his worst night he's still better than most.VikingBlues wrote: I could see Blindboy managing to develop a good blues guitar playing style if he only had one arm. Absolutely no indication of any injuries in this.

They should outlaw nailguns! They seem to be going after flesh and bone more often than wood! My sympathies BB! Was really enjoying your Blues jam recordings lately! Seems a lot of folks here have had similar war-stories. I have permanent nerve damage to two fingers and thumb of my left (fretting) h...

Cool! Frankenstrat sounds great when anybody plays it! Almost like it plays itself. You sounded good too BB. (that's you in the shadow on the other side?) Must have been a gas!
That drive home at 2am must have been a bummer though.

Sorry Rocknroll93. I didn't mean to sound like Scrooge! I used to peek now and then... I was just reading this very morning about his new solo debut album, "A New Day Yesterday". This was in a Feb, 2001 issue of Guitar Player Magazine I found while cleaning the basement. Time marches on do...

Re: Slide Guitar?
There are so many variables! And people interpret information differently. Dereck Trucks uses very light strings for slide on his SG. I hear other folks will use a .015 or heavier for the high string. String construction is a factor too, along with action setup. Round wound bronze strings sound way ...
