Re: Restoring the SG

It should be way cool! I'm hoping to get some Dereck Trucks/ Warren Haines kind of tones out of it.

Re: Valentin Danev - Christmas blues (HD)

Killer playing!
I enjoyed the Christmas one, but, like VB, I enjoyed the Minor Blues track more. Seems like it gave you more room for expression and dynamics. Reminded me a bit of early Eric Johnson.

Re: Saddle replacement

I am assuming your tunomatic is setup to match the radius of the fretboard? How well does the curvature of the strings work for the slide barring all strings? Have you made any other adjustments to comoensate for the curvature? My Gibson has a flatter radius than a Strat. I haven't had any issues g...

Re: Saddle replacement

Hmmm, I haven't had a problem with my stock tunOmatic for slide. That being said, you could look at Stewart Macdonald. They would probably have something that would drop in and have the adjustments you need.

I should be picking it up Christmas Eve, so it will be like a present.
No, I still can't record. I have kind of given up on that, for now. :wall:

Restoring the SG

100_0139.JPG The guitar on the left is my 1969 Gibson SG Pro. This was my first good guitar. I got it back in the middle '80's for $150. It had had a neck repair, Grover tuners, heavy metal pickups (it came with P-90's), and the bridge/tremelo was missing pieces. Over the years it has had several d...

Sweet!
Nice and relaxed, and lovely tone from your parlour guitar. Nice fingerpicking on the rhythm track, too.

Thanks, 12bar.
12bar wrote:Great how you mix slide and fretted playing
Actually, the only fretted notes I'm doing are when I play the G chord. I fret the low E with my thumb and the high E with my forefinger. All the rest is slide.

Standard tuning slide...

OK, here's another one. Monday night we had a feller named Jeff sit in. We had no idea what he was going to play, but he said it was in G, so I thought I would sling some slide on it. (I can just barely play slide in standard tuning, and only in G. ) At the beginning, you can see me trying to...

Re: Not sure I even want to post this...

Thanks for all the kind words. :shy: I'm really lucky to have the band and venue that I do. I pretty much only pick up the guitar once a week at our Monday night jam. We are a bunch of close friends (band and audience) and have a great time together. This is the longest lived band I have ever had (s...

Not sure I even want to post this...

I have no DAW, or interface, so I can't play into the computer machine. The only way I have to share music is by video. I asked a friend to video this song Monday night and forgot that I had the camera on close up mode, so it is blurry. Oh well, call it an effect. This is our take on an ...
