Re: Light and Shade

My vote is for "shade", much more fun song to play with for me. But your style of playing probably suits the "light" more...Say didn't I hear that backing track being used for another song around here recently ;).....
Good luck with the auditors.

Re: Prepping for - Down and out

Yes a lovely sweet quality to this track, nothing wrong with your rhythm playing, better than me anyway.
I too look forward to hearing the completed version of this.

Re: Synthia Size 4

As I've envied the last few songs you've done in these unusual styles and having read your comment about a more searing lead part I thought I'd have a play along with your track and see what that sounded like. I dropped it way into the background with lots of reverb and delay to keep with the theme ...

Re: I've Got A Mind Collab?

Wonderful Kalle, just what the song needed. It was really lacking some bottom end and this has filled the gap nicely. Apologies for the difficult task you must have had playing in time with my rhythm playing. I'm not the best person at sticking to the exact beat and I was playing it without a metron...

Re: Rainy Day Blues

Nothing better to cheer you up on a rainy day than a good noodle on the guitar, some good licks going on here and a nice theme throughout. Well done.

Re: The Best Thing I Ever Did To My Guitar

Yesterday I installed a (small) 1000 pF capacitor on the volym pot (between input and output pins). With this change I no longer loose treble sound when I reduce volume (as you normally do on all electric guitars). This is a "easy to do" modification that I can recommend. I also did that ...

Re: I've Got A Mind Collab?

And BB´s guitar playing is not bad... Not bad indeed!!!!!!! Another truly great live rendition of this song, even without singing it still keeps it's mood and feeling, the sign of a truly great song. If you can get the bass to sound like that then I'll be completely happy, simple yet interesting. Y...

Re: Two guitars, irresponsible volume...

I always enjoy these more than when you post an actual song or cover song. Really hear Bb letting loose and just playing. Due to your finger incident your playing is probably not as tight as usual...but of course that's no fault of your own....apart from pulling the trigger on the nail gun...that wa...

Re: Slow Mo Me

Funny that Mike - I've been hearing your Greeny tones recently and been thinking how great it would be to have the perseverance and skill to get such a great playing style and tone that you have. Well I guess we all want what we don't have...as is the never ending journey of guitar learning....

Re: Slow Mo Me

Getting almost a little jazzy in your latest endeavours. I wish I had your dedication to trying new things instead of spending all my time learning more Greeny stuff. This could have been from a professional instrumental album and I wouldn't have been able to tell that it wasn't by a 25 year experie...

Re: When Blindboy is away...

You sound right at home with the duties Db.
Usually for me harmonica takes a back seat to guitar so was nice to hear something where it does most of the lead work.

Re: Not exactly blues, but cool anyway...

Wow awesome, really enjoyed playing along with this one. Your lead lick was just fine to my ears, especially with it just being flung upon you.
BTW, Had to do a double take...and I didn't notice it last time in the other song...but is that his real name? Guy Raper? :yikes:

Re: Blues Without The Sun

Thanks for the comments guys This is your Epi LP? Great tone! Smooth playing. Yes it is Lilianne my Epi LP (It did sound a little compressed to me, but nice)) Well that is the current drawbacks between Amp simulation and real tubes, they haven't quite got those heavily overdriven sounds quite right....

Re: Losing Your Motivation?

That struck a chord with me mainly because of how much I use Soundclick now and it seems that all of the main content of the site is aimed at promoting these recycled, digitally-sampled techno-grooves, quasi-synth rhythms, pseudo-songs of violence-laden gansta-rap, acid pop, and simpering, saccarine...

Blues Without The Sun

Was playing around with the delay section of Guitar Rig trying to get a good sound, had a little play and recorded this. There is an obvious similarity to a very famous and great song. The "chorus" is with my Peter Green preset but added the delay to it, the "verses" are with the...
