Re: De Faoite Guitars - Terz Parlour

I'm so glad your dog is OK. A good friend of mine lost her dog to a rattlesnake bite last year. It happened right behind her house. That is a lovely little guitar. I like parlour guitars a lot... In fact, the only flattop guitar I own is an old Regal parlour guitar. Good luck with your house. I'm (s...

Re: Eric Clapton 2018 Cologne concert review

At least you got to see him live. My only Clapton concert experience was back in the early 80's... It sold out before I could get a ticket, so I went to the stadium hoping to get a ticket from a scalper (or sneak in  ). I had no luck so I stood outside the doors and listened to the show from t...

Re: MY 3 PRS Beauties (Dots, Moons & Birds)

Three beauties! A good friend of mine had a McCarty from the lat 80's or early 90's that I played frequently. It was a fantastic guitar, and his favorite in his collection.

Re: R.I.P. Matt Guitar Murphy - dead at 88

I was lucky enough to see him play in a bar in Oklahoma City, back in the 80's. He played an amazing set, then took a break. I approached him at the bar and introduced myself and shook his hand. He was friendly, but so drunk he couldn't speak coherently. I talked to (at) him for a few more minutes, ...

Re: NGD Rivera Custom P-93 (3 guitars in one)

Very nice! I've always liked those. I love P-90 pickups. I have two guitars epuipped with them, a Casino and a '52 Gibson ES-125, both of which get played often. If I had room for another guitar, a Riviera would be high on the list.

Re: When is a tele not a tele

Nice. I've never seen a Parker "Tele" before. It looks good. The only performer I ever saw playing a Parker (Fly) live was Bluesman Corey Harris, back in the late 90's or very early 00's. I was kind of surprised to see a traditional blues artist playing a solo gig on the most modern guitar...

Re: General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR

I'm sorry to hear about this... I am not particularly active these days, but this forum has an important place in my heart. It was through the encouragement of members and (when I got a Line6 Pod) a venue for posting my playing, that pulled me out of a deep slump in my music and kept me playing unti...

Are you going to pass through the Southwest? If you are going to be in New Mexico, we might get together for some music.

Re: Gibson could be facing bankruptcy!

It says that it can't determine the dimensions of this post and asks me to check the url. I tried both loading the file and dragging and dropping. It has been doing this for a while, and may be because of my crappy internet connection.

I tried it with the attatchmen function. I keep getting a yellow triangle sign when I try. Is there a size limit?

Re: Gibson could be facing bankruptcy!

Full disclosure... I own two Gibsons. A 1952 ES-125 that is all original except for Grover tuners and an ebony bridge, and a 1969 SG that has no original hardware except for the pots. Both have been refretted (the 125 by me :yikes: ). I use both of them, but my Epiphones and my vintage Stat get far ...

Re: Gibson could be facing bankruptcy!

Seems to me that Gibson has priced themselves out of business. I recently played my Sheraton (around $700) back to back with my friends flame top Gibson 335 (around $3700). Same amp, no effects, same settings on the amp. The Gibson was pretty (very!), had a bit nicer fit and finish (the binding cove...

Both of these are quite nice. Only a few notes and it's clear who's playing, that's the difference to a copycat. I agree. Congratulations on singing while playing... Not an easy task. I've always liked The Drinking Gourd. I used to play it on fiddle, way back when I played bluegrass and tradi...

Very nice Spanish sounds in this thread. I don't play it, but my father was a very accomplished flaminco/classical player. This thread brings back fond memories. :D
