Re: Caterpiggle Crawl...
Sounds a bit like Saturday night shuffle, which is a lovely little piece... I have played it based on Eric Lugosch tabs... http://www.ericlugosch.com/SaturdayNightShuffle-lo.mp3 Very nice! Well played. Have you ever heard Roy Bookbinder's version of that? (I think he calls it "Saturday ...

Caterpiggle Crawl...
I have been fooling around occasionally, trying to get some fingerpicking skills back. Here is a recent effort. It is a tune my Dad wrote years ago. It has one of the hardest licks I have ever tried to learn. It is a five fret stretch across six strings, then you slide the two notes to the same fret...

OK, I got my software working.
How do we do this? Do I send you my track, do I post it here? With or without the BT?
I'm confused.

Woah! Nice axe!
That is the fully hollow one with no center block, correct?
I like archtops.
Like the new Bluesname too.

Re: Relaxing Weekend?
Did you read about the flood? It happened long time ago, in a little country town, way back in North Berwick It gushed out of the shower, it gushed both night and day The people got worried, they began to cry, 'Lord have mercy, where can we go now?' There were women and there was children, screamin...

Bummer! Hope It gets fixed quick.
"Well it's floodin' up in Scotland, and the plumber is out of town.
Yeah, it's floodin' up in Scotland, and the plumber is out of town.
If I don't want my guitar to get all wet, people...
well, I better not put that guitar down."

Re: Complete the following......
I have heard it both ways, often by the same person. It seems to be sort of interchangeable. From a singers' viewpoint, a verse is like a stanza in a poem, a chorus is a repeated stanza that reinforces the theme (my wife's analogy). From a blues guitarist's viewpoint, a verse is a chorus is a round ...

Re: Spring weather in NM aaarrgh!
Some spring BB - I guess it looks nicer from a distance. Do you often get that much snow this late in the year. What does look nice is the studio - doesn't look like a self-build. No fun when you've got to chop your own logs for all your heating though. Hope you get a quick thaw. Y...

Spring weather in NM aaarrgh!
Got up this morning to this... 001 - Copy.JPG 002 - Copy.JPG I am tired of snow! :wall: We are almost out of firewood too. It has been a long winter. By the way... the first pic shows the studio that I built for Miriam. She does her reupholstry (sp?) business there, but I occasionally get to do musi...

Re: Down By the River
Nice!!
I always liked this song when Neil did it, but never thought about covering it (there are so many cool songs). Maybe I should.
Sounds like an octave run in the solo.. I dig that.

  All Right! Good playing and I wish I could sing that well. I agree with bluesinbflat; letting the guitar speak on the five is very effective. RIP Sooty indeed. We just recently lost our Buck to an owl, but have a new kitten. Your playing sounded like you were making a bit of a st...

I just want to thank the members of this forum for their enthusiasm, friendlyness, (MAC comes to mind on those) and general encouragement. I had been getting kind of jaded with playing. Hadn't played at all except for parties, open mics, and (very occasional) gigs, in ten years. Never played by myse...
