Re: Slow Blues In D Collab. Anyone?

Heck, that sound great, Lynyrd.
I wont be able to do anything until at least tomorrow night. I have a gig tonight, and wont be home untill late.
As contrast seems to be the theme here, I plan to start off real soft, and build up. Let's see what happens.

Evil Collab w/Bluesinbflat

The other day, Bluesinbflat shot me a link to a song that was complete except for two verses of guitar, and asked me to see what I could do. As it was a sweet version of an Albert King tune (one of my heroes), I wanted to do it justice. Rather than using my usual technique of charging in with my eye...

Re: Audacity Question

What are you recording your guitar through? I use a Line6 Guitarport and haven't had any of those problems.
I have had other problems, occasionally the Audacity software decides that it doesn't want to talk to the Line6, and I have to fuss with it.

Re: Slow Blues In D Collab. Anyone?

Sweet! Nice job VB! Both of you guys sound great. I would like to get in on this one if I may. VikingBlues, your music space looks pretty good. Lots of nice axes. When I want to play something, I have to dig out the TonePort, hook it to the computer, then dig out whichever guitar I wa...

Re: Blowing off a little steam.

Wow, Bluesinbflat and VikingBlues, thank you. Those are some of the best compliments to my playing that I could ask for. I will never have enormous technical ability, so I have aspired to Soul or Feel in my playing. I hope that I might move others as I have been moved by some guitarists (my playing ...

Re: And now for something completely different...

Sounds so natural and lovely ebb and flow and sway to the rhythms. Very successful miking experiment, and if that's tequila talking in your playing I maybe need to switch to that from wine. Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I have been neglecting my acoustics lately, mustn't do that. The ...

Re: Blowing off a little steam.

Wow, I didn't expect this... This tune is sitting on number 27 in the Blues genre, and number 11 in Blues-general on Soundclick. I really didn't expect that. This was just a first take, hammer on the guitar to knock loose some frustration kind of deal. I didn't expect anyone to take it even remotely...

Sweet!
That is very nice. I wish I had had a loop machine when I was starting out. It would have provided endless hours of fun! (Back then, a four track cassette machine was HIGH tech)

And now for something completely different...

After seeing VikingBlues talk about the difficulties of miking an amp, I thought I would see if my GuitarPort would support a microphone. Rather than lug an amp up our STEEP stairs to the computer room, I decided to try a totally acoustic fingerstyle thing for my first foray into miking my playing. ...

Re: Blowing off a little steam.

Thanks 12Bar :shy: Yeah, VB, a good tube amp responds to the way you play unlike any solid state or hybrid amp I have ever played. (HBL touts the CyberTwin, so it may well be the exception that proves the rule :D ) The models on the Line6 are pretty good, but nothing like an amp at volume. :big_smil...

Re: Blowing off a little steam.

I liked that a lot, too. That's one thing that intrigued me. You start a line with round, melodic tones and finish a few bars later with some really crunchy distortion. I wondered if you were fiddling with the amp settings, the guitar settings, a pedal, just playing harder or whatever to accomplish...

Self indulgent blues... I like that.
Thanks guys, glad you liked it. I am starting to get the virtual amp to respond a bit more like a real one. I like when you can get a variety of tones and levels of gain just by switching pickups and varying your picking attack.

Blowing off a little steam.

Got frustrated working on a project, couldn't get it to sound right. :wall: So I poured another glass of wine, clicked on a slow blues in C bt, closed my eyes, and got ALL self indulgent. :music2: :amp: Now maybe I can go back to my project and focus... Nah, I'm going to bed. :away: http://soundclic...
