Re: Chitlin Concarne for the Chitlin Crew

 Nice one ElMano - and Blindboy's right - the way you play this would suggest you could have a good go at the Bossa Collab. Love the Fender sound you got, and your settings worked well. i'm afraid I'm not familiar with Music Maker 2007 but a synchronization problem might suggest lat...

Re: Rollin' & Tumblin'

Hi bflat. Sorry - three days since your post and I've kept meaning to answer but been very busy. :alright: I've downloaded tonight and will have a go in the next 24 hours and post it back up if it's OK. It'll need to be as I notice your harp playing is up to it's usual high standards - nice . :thumb...

Re: PC recording

Just an update. A lot has happened since I posted. I had a 'warning' mini-stroke, telling me to stop teaching and retire!! I'm fine now and have found the extra time very useful for 'learning' to use Audacity. It really is good and I'm working on a backing track I've made on my looper, then recordi...

Re: Hoochie Coochie Man Cover

 Sounds like a great show to me too - we don't get music like that round here. And the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues festival should be called the Edinburgh Jazz festival. Good to hear "Hoochie Coochie Man", but that's twice in 12 hours - it was the absolute highlight of yesterd...

Re: Maggie Bell

VB - could the song have been "Hundred and Ten in the Shade"? John Fogerty did it on Blue Moon Swamp. He had the help of the Fairfield Four gospel group on his recording. Yes - you've got it MojoJim - thanks. It was a very crunchy version of it mind - not too much of a gospel ballad, but ...

Well - at last the day finally arrived. MAGGIE BELL (Vocals) - the Scots Queen of the Blues, once the star of Stone The Crows. For many years Maggie has lived in Holland where she continued singing and touring in Europe. Now she’s back home in the UK and has teamed up with :- ZOOT MONEY (Keyb...

Re: Becca and Blindboy live and streaming...

Thanks for posting up the link Blindboy. I love the look of the place and the ambience - idyllic. I've only had a chance to look at one of the vids so far - the second one "Live Recording - 08/08/2010 20:08" and enjoyed it a lot (I don't like to be too sensible and start at the beginning!)...

Wierd Soundclick Data

Anyone else with pieces on Soundclick had weird data results yesterday. If I get half a dozen downloads over a few months on a piece then I'm very pleased - I don't believe 16 downloads from 17 listens on "Too Blue" in one day yesterday unless there's an amnesiac out there who's kept forge...

Re: Using what is to hand...

Good thinking - a nice idea.

Syd Barrett (RIP) used to use a cigarette lighter for a slide and got some great sounds out of it, so .... what did you reckon to the tone it gave you Bb?

Re: TAB or Score???

I don't think off Jimi either. I think of Scotty Moore (or JJ Cale). Hendrix sure wasn't the first to use it! Anyway, having now tabbed plenty of JJ Cale,I know he used it in a few songs too. And, so far I think always just the E7#9, not any other key.His "Money talks" is basically just A...

Re: TAB or Score???

Yeah, that's the Hendrix chord 2 frets up. I love that [EDIT - I put a rogue # here - it's not E #7#9] E 7#9 two frets down from this, with the open top and bottom strings available - huge chord with a sound that just grabs my attention by the throat. For some reason it didn't register with me firs...

Re: TAB or Score???

Hi Golfxzq - looks like the tab is right. http://jguitar.com/chord?root=F%23&chord=7th+Sharp+9th The accidental natural on the top A on the score seems to be missing. The bottom F# is not sounded but continues from where it is played previously as indicated by the tie, so that's maybe why it doe...

   Sweet! Very tasty, your volume is fine and the Hagstrom is singing. It is kind of a fun piece, isn't it. I will let this ride until my weekend (Sun, Mon) and see if anyone else jumps in (C'mon Fellers...). If not I'll do another couple of verses. Thanks - good to know it's ...

Re: Too Blue

Nice track VB ....you have a pretty impressive output going on at the mo!! .where are you finding time to sand and construct and hone ??? Difficult BT as the piano is quite prominent, so you don't need to be playing over that too much .........which you don't and your licks seem to fit the pretty l...
