Re: Amazing grace with a twist

I found a nice midi track that I "upgraded" by using soundfonts (in stead of the standard midi sounds) while recording it using my 2nd system. Originally there's a piano playing the lead... that's why I like midi tracks... klick and [mute] Two different appraoches to playing thi...

Re: A new blonde in my life

:handshake: Happy Birthday VB.... another year bites the dust. They say, with age comes wisdom, so I am sure your "Blondie" was a wise decision. She sure is a sweet sounding guitar... that same distinctive "VB" sound as with the Tokai but in a much more "single coil" s...

Re: A new blonde in my life

Rolling down on the photo, I thought I'd be seeing "oh well, another boring strat"... but no, it's a tele! :D Congrats! I've been mostly playing my rosewood board Squier tele since I got it a couple of months ago. It's just great. Have always been a big fan of Steve Cropper (you know the ...

Re: Help! Bad GAS attack!

Sorry I haven't been able to contribute to answering your question BB, but I''m under GAS attack myself so much I don't know what to suggest. Part of the GAS has been released but its still not all gone and it's the 5W tube amp question that's still driving me mental too. If I sort out my thoughts o...

Re: GAS attack strikes .. and Happy Birthday !!

Happy Birthday VB ...GAS attack strikes again Eh !! ....Well, you just never know when it gonna creep up on you !! :yikes: How long was this attack in its 'appearance ' ..or was it sudden ?? Thanks Strummer. No, not a sudden attack I'm afraid - several weeks of wondering and surfing looking at gear...

A new blonde in my life

I don't know what my wife must have thought when I said I wanted a blonde for my birthday. :yikes: Here she is. 100_2357.JPG Nothing "special" - just a Vintage brand V2 Reissued (or TC200 as it was once catchily called  ). I used to have a TC200 a few years ago and it got sold in the ...

Re: Blackheart Bitmo mods demo (transfered)

Ok :D I recorded a quick one. I started with doing some rhythm stuff on 2 guitar tracks, then added the organ. Edited the bt and played along while turning the reverb mix pot. - on the back of the amp... it distracts :icon_whoknows: anyway, here it is. http://12bar.de/community/download/file.php?id...

Re: Mannish Boy Blues collab anyone?

I did a second take - help me decide? Both are good Cruisemates but if I had to choose I think I'd go with Jondo on this and say the second take works better for me. I think it would stick in the mind quicker than the first - something about it's structure maybe - dunno really, just my g...

Re: Comfort zone/default jam

VB... some cool licks in there. I am a big fan of 7#9 chords too. (I think so anyway. I don't actually know the names of all of the chord shapes I play. :shy: ) I wonder how many players default to the key of E? Kind of you to say so about the licks, but at the same time as you posted the comment I...

Re: Comfort zone/default jam

Intersting topic BB. When I pick up a guitar to try it out I probably end up playing something along these lines [ EDIT - file removed so this next bit's meaningless - and I've played this totally cold to try to recreate things more accurately, lots of warts and all.] :wall: Like you it'll never be ...

Re: Am I Missing Something with Head Phones?

My Vox is supposed to have one "tube"... I'm not sure if it is an actual tube or a faux-tube, but I like the sound. You are right abut the sound, it does sound somewhat different from headphones to speaker. This amp has one other unique feature... on the back is a pot which reduces the po...

Re: Am I Missing Something with Head Phones?

I managed to do a trial with the headphones before work this morning. No idea how my headphones compare to yours Golfxzq - they're Sennheiser HD201 (nothing special about them - just well reviewed entry level) but they seem to be in the same sort of price bracket as your Koss headphones. For me, I p...

Re: Am I Missing Something with Head Phones?

If I'm worried that noise levels are likely to disturb or annoy others I find practice / playing using headphones can be liberating. It makes you feel you can "go for it" - take more risks and try things you wouldn't normally do. But then I know I'm far too self-conscious about people hear...

And here's mine (assuming I remember to hit the submit buton!). Giving "Shiraz" (the wine red Tokai) the day off to recover from the Phrygian excesses. So it's a rare outing for the Hagstrom Viking Deluxe. Hope it'll do - one day I'll record a segment for a collab I'm happy...

Re: New Guitar

How is it for weight? Some of us suffer for our art with the Mahogany body boosting the weight - worth suffering for the tone though. I actually weighed it. I weighed myself first and then me holding the guitar. I subtracted the second weight from the first weight and came to the conclusion of........
