Re: Durango Guitar Works
I'm also tempted by the Hagstrom Ultra Swede, after being totally seduced by the Hagstrom sound of VikingBlues's Viking. Unfortunately I haven't been able to try one out, living as I do in a musical backwater, but I would gamble that the ease of playing the very slim neck might compensate for the l...

Hello everyone - it's me again. :wall: There's a desparate rush of creative activity here as the holiday draws to a close and I return to the pit of ordure that is my work on Monday. So I'm feeling a bit out of ordure. Sorry. So here's a new song. http://soundclick.com/share?songid=9320596 Th...

Sounds like good advice Strummer and HCM.
Tickest ordered.
I can't believe there's a musical event worth going to within walking distance in this musical backwater!

Maggie Bell
Anyone seen Maggie Bell live in recent years. I'm interested to know if a gig is worth a try. She is appearing at a venue in North Berwick as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. For North Berwick to have ANY music performance related to blues is about as rare as rocking horse droppings or me winn...

Thank you Vancouveris - I need encouragement for my voice as Strummer has pointed out! :D Look VB I think you need to cease all and any apologies around your vocal emissions !! Apologising just drags your confidence down... your saying "I'm no good" ..........and that is just tosh old chum...

Re: Beauty at Marnies
Sweeeet! That would fit perfectly on a Knopfler album, IHMO. Nice floating guitar tone, soft vocals. Thank you 12bar. I find putting up a piece here with vocals SO much more stressful, but I need them to say what I want to say. Nice. Don't be embarassed about the voice. You should...

Release date in the UK - September 20, 2010.
Me too - I often decide not to listen to a group / artist where the lead vocals are male due to the vocal being not to my taste - I very rarely decide not to listen due to female lead vocals.Golfxzq wrote:I am a sucker for female vocals.

http://soundclick.com/share?songid=9307683 Well - this is the fruit of my labours on holiday at Marnies Croft. "Labours" being me walking about with headphones on listening to backing tracks on the CD walkman and trying to get my poor head to come up with anything resembling worthwhile ly...

Re: Cindy Lauper Memphis Blues
This 6 minute clip has short samples of the tracks. This does sound a bit different to the Cyndi Lauper I would expect - does sound nice and bluesy but I'd need to listen to more of it to form an opinion! Can be a good thing for the blues when a high profile non-blues ...

 Congratulations to Grham McDowell for winning the 110th US Open!!! That was some great golf. A great performance of nerve too for a player ranked 37 in the world with no major titles. But I was just looking at his stats and he's obviously been working on his game:- Stroke Avera...

Very Sweet indeed.
Good song, nice singing, and good acoustic playing - I like the arrangement too. I admire your courage in not hiding your voice / playing behind a lot of sound / fx.

Thanks VB for the fantastic views! Looks like a great place to paddle for me (my other hobby)! I always enjoy this OT stuff  Well, holidays are coming... If you do go to Loch Ness for a paddle remember to pick your spot carefully - it's 750 feet deep (230 m)! Apparently contains m...

Re: 50s or 60s neck?
I guess that for me there's enough quality guitars around that I can get one with a neck that suits me. So I sort of have to confess ignorance of which sort of necks my guitars have other than the Hagstrom is definately thin, the "tele" copy is also slimmer compare to a Korean Squier Tele ...
