Re: Love in Vain - Early Draft

It does cry out Delta. I still need to get my flatpick to think it's a thumb pick and start playing those bass lines. Let me practice up. Then there's Blindboy over on another thread slidin' up a storm! He's got a whole bucketfull of tasty slide licks! But when it comes down to it, maybe leaving it ...

Greeley Blues Jam

Danielle 2.jpg Allstars.jpg Coco.jpg I was lucky enough to take in the annual Greeley, Colorado Blue Jam last Saturday (June 11). This event has been held for several years now and after hearing good things about it I thought I'd take a day off (!) and enjoy. Greeley is about 20 miles from where I ...

What gear do you regret not having anymore?

Been keeping up on the "What Gear do you have..." thread. Always an interesting topic. I got to thinking about a couple of guitars I used to have that slipped away (much to my regret!). So I thought It might be fun to hear of other members experiences trading off gear that they later wish ...

Re: Love in Vain - Early Draft

Whoa! Where'd that come from? That's GREAT! Hey VB, you're really on to something here! This recording simply oozes blues! I think you should forget any backing tracks. You've got everything you need right there. Like you said maybe work up an intro and tweak the vocals if you want, but it sounds gr...

Re: Widowmakers

Yeah, the three prong plug takes care of one of the big issues. If power becomes shorted to the chassis (and consequently the strings and bridge of your guitar) it will hopefully trip a modern circuit breaker or blow the fuse in your amp before it harms you. Most of these early cheap little tube amp...

harmony400a 010.JPG harmony400a 004.JPG Thought I should give some more details of my little Harmony tube amp. This one started out as a Harmony 400A. The "A" designates this as the upscale model of the 400. Instead of just a volume knob, the 400A also has a tone knob! Many Harmonys, Kays...

Re: Teisco trippin'

that is one cool axe for $29.99 !! .........You must sure look after 'em !!( Or bury 'em in the garden for 30 years and dig 'em up fresh !! ) Just shows you don't have to pay top dollar to make good music . I think they were 29.99 new. I don't think I could have afforded it then... Interesting idea...

Well, things are gonna change now for better or for worse. My sons helped my get going with audacity, but I never fi...

Re: Another Becca and Blindboy original...

That was great!! I agree (with everybody else it seems) that your Casino sounds wonderful! Beautiful tone! But I'm not gonna be so quick to put your SG down. They're different instruments with different things to say. I wonder if beautiful tone might be limited in that it struggles to express emotio...
