What's Up

Hey guys! Need some input on a song I'm working on, What's Up. I seem to get stuck on just playing the pentatonic upp and down and I wish to have "Less is more"-feeling to it, but I'm running out of ideas...especially what I should play over the V chord...any suggestions? I've included a b...

Re: Oh Gee Blues

Thanks, VikingBlues! I agree with your remarks! Guitar tone: I play Gibson Les Paul with Burstbuckers through Line6 POD HD 300 into Cubase 6. I put some compressor on the overall track to get it more together. The take 1 has a little to much reverb on the guitar track... When I play blues like this ...

Re: Waiting for the inspiration

VikingBlues and Strummer07: Thanks for your kind words! I realize that I'm a lousy singer so I thought I'd go for some instrumental arrangements, this is the first and there is more to come...Your remark about film score theme tells me I may be moving in the right direction. A lament - well that's j...

Waiting for the inspiration

Hi there! Long time no see...been busy with work and family stuff, but now my Paula get some time again, but, waiting for that inspiration I recorded a tune I wrote where the swedish/finnish melancholy mood tries to break out to some bluesy stuff, didn't quite succeed, but here it is so far...I did ...

Re: What kind of gear do you have and are you happy with it?

Well, I just purchased a Line6 POD HD300, amazing tones... I use it with my Gibson Les Paul Standard and a Henriksen JazzAmp 110. The only thing that would beat it would be a real tube amp, but that would on the other hand break my back. This setup is perfect for me! I also have a Line6 V...

Re: Open Mic Live!

Well done! Good playing! A couple of questions: 1. What do you use for drums on your backing track? 2. What PA-system do you use? 3. Do you play the electric guitar through a computer plug-in or do you have a guitar amp? I'm considering some songs with backingtracks since I don't play in a ba...

Re: Well, here I am again...

Funny, I've been trying to learn jazzguitar for some time, but I always come back to that blues. Jazz is fun, but hard to learn, takes a lot of time to get it in heart and mind, blues on the other hand has been a part of my life for a long time, and being 55+ I don't have time to wait for that jazz ...

Well, here I am again...

...can't get rid of that blues...it keeps coming back all the time. Bought me a new guitar, a Gibson LP Standard, wonderful guitar...and here is an example of how it sounds. (Don't listen to the song, I have a flue at the moment...) Shit! Uploaded the wrong version...here's the right one, still with...
