Problem solved...Boss GT-100 is to be upgraded to version 2.0, where you can simultaneously record a nonprocessed signal and reamp that signal. Some other cool features will also come with that upgrade

Although I have both Boss GT-100 and Line6 POD HD I sometimes need to change the guitar tone when mixing. Amplitube is obvious a good choice, but as I have Cubase 6 I also have VST Amp Rack. Have you tried to only install the drivers for the soundcard and skip the POD Farm installation? Yep, it's fun to play bass and in some way it helps to improve your harmony awerness so keep on doing that, but don't forget to finger your guitar now and then too...

I have had some issues with soundcards too, not only Line6, but I found out that I had to go to the Control Panel>Hardware and sound and inactivate the internal soundcard of the computer to get rid of those crackling sounds.
