Re: Input jack now only works if I input the plug half way i
Think of it as a normal plug, the tip is your live and the sleeve is your earth, on most guitars the tip connects to your selector switch but from the picture it looks like you don't have one. The tip will probably connect to the middle lug on your volume pot in that case, the earth should be solder...

Re: Oh Gee Blues
I lied I did one tonight with the old trusty guitar rig 4 setup which I've not used to record since last time I posted anything here! Don't know who or what I was trying to sound like on this, just played and recorded the first take and saved it. Recorded with Lilianne (Epi Les Paul that's been &quo...

Re: Oh Gee Blues
It's funny, when I play it seems to come out like Mac era Peter Green, when you play it comes out like Splinter Group era Peter Green, we could make a pretty versatile tribute band between us! The first one is definitely a PG tone and you seem to play much more comfortably on that one. Perhaps thoug...

Update On My Life
Hello Strangers, It has been ever such a long time since I last posted here although I do stop in occasionally to check out what's going on. So here is the latest update from the drudgery of my life. The last time I posted was when I first joined the band last July, after that it was slow progress a...

Re: Joined A Band
Thanks guys, much appreciated. A big part of me gaining the confidence to be able to play publicly is down to you, all the encouragement and comments on my recordings really gave me that first step on to the ladder.

Joined A Band
Well I haven't been around to post much lately and struggled to keep up to date with all the posting. Just thought I would let you know my bit of news that I joined a band. I've made good friends with a guy from the music support group and we have decided to start at it properly. We both play guitar...

Re: Midnight Open G in Bb
Way ahead of you there VB, I played for 7 hours yesterday and for a good 8 hours today, really loving to play at the moment what with this new support group and all. So here is my take, I just went mental no holding back, as is my style with most things. I listened through once then just did a take,...

Re: Fender Prosonic amp back in action...
It makes you amp sound the best in the world for 3 minutes 29 seconds then it explodes like the 4th of July (or the 5th November for this side of the pond).....Guess I need to take my meds, some very silly posts coming from me the last few days.

:yikes: At least he didn't use the toilet bowl... Shows again that the sound of an electric guitar is mainly made by the PU's, not the kind of wood. I'm sorry but I have to disagree with that, as a huge fan of the '59 Les Paul I don't think it would have had anything like it's legendary...

Re: Forest fire danger in the Southwest...
Apologies for my twisted sense of humour in advance, but that sounds like something out of a cartoon to me, you just get the garden looking nice and the trees nicely pruned and the fires comes and frazzles them all. Seriously though, still got our fingers crossed and hoping it stays away, big thumbs...

Is it Friday again yet? Thanks guys, fun is an understatement, I come out feeling pumped and on a real high...much cheaper than drugs too. If anyone is ever in the Sheffield area and wants to Jam you are more than welcome to come along, just let me know. Just a shame we are all so far apart...one da...

Re: BB King at Glastonbury
My uncle is playing at Glasto again this year, he played there last year. He is the drummer in a band called Carmen Ghia & The Hot Rods, a sort of swing/jive 50's style band, much the same as Imelda May...only better. They were on the Bourbon Street stage tonight (Saturday) so look out for foota...

Re: In pursuit of recorded tone (again!)
I think we should start a new thread, don't want to hijack other peoples topics. I'm not sure about others using it, I know the seasoned players have their tube amps and so have the amazing sounds that come with them, but my budget won't stretch to one so GR4 is the best I can do.

Music Support Group Jam Session
I thought I would fill you all in on some recent developments in my life with regards to playing. As most of you will know I started jamming over at my Dad's house and from there started attending the open mic night in the local pub which I've really enjoyed. Well I recently started seeing a new Cou...

A think a touch of tremelo works well, but personally I would increase the rate a bit and lower the intensity, other than that a great recording. I too got me a hat while in Jacksonville....I look just as foolish as you in to too ;)

Re: Pyscho Aesthetic Concept Design .. ermm .. WHAT???!!!!
So they should make a guitar with a beer tap on the headstock, a candy bar dispenser below the tailpiece and a canopy tent that opens out from the control cavity....hey presto the perfect guitar and it didn't take me 12 months to design.
