Re: epi LP goldtop

Anyone know what strings came on my Epi LP Goldtop? Size and/or brand. I love the way they feel and don't want to screw it up when i have to buy new strings.

Re: eric and joe...

Strummer, that would have been an amazing show to see. I was wondering if Clapton played more than the 1 song, but it sounds like not. I've added seeing a concert at the RAH to my list of things to do when I eventually get over there. It seems like a lot of acts like to play there (Cream, etc). I th...

MOst have probably seen this, but I felt like sharing:

I really love the contrasting sounds of the strat compared to the les paul at 4:10.

Re: Roadworn...

the old guitars had nitro finish (pre-70s). It gets worn quite easily. The satin finished Highway One models have that kinda thin nitro finish. So I'd look for a used one of those, for example. Of course there are some cheaper worn finished guitars too. Like "Vintage" brand, in the UK. Th...

Re: Roadworn...

Great question and links. What I want to know is how SRVs guitar got that distressed. Even if he played it 8 hours a day, that paint and laquer is pretty thick. Any ideas?

Re: epi LP goldtop

You know, I've actually grown to like this one more than my Strat. Just something about the neck that feels so good.

I can't seem to get the image uploaded properly. I'm working on it.

Re: crossroads dvd

I'd recommend it. At the end, Clapton says even though he thought this was going to be the last one, there will be another because there are more acts he wanted to play with that couldn't make it. No word on when it will be, but if the past holds true, look at 2013. And if its in Chicago, you're all...

Thanks elmano! I meant to ask about the toggle switch, too. I look forward to getting to know this thing. Any recommendations for particular sounds?

epi LP goldtop

After trying it out a few times and getting advice from the board, I finally picked myself up a epi LP goldtop. I got it setup with the lower action that I prefer and thanks to the board for that tip. So far I love it. I'll always consider myself a 'strat guy', but its fun to play around with the LP...

Buddy Guy and the Stones

I caught Buddy Guy on this Stones special today and thought I'd share it. I just picked up tickets to a couple of his January shows. I highly recommend it if you've never been. 5LBAtOkljok 94VvuLi33lI Let's see if I got the insert link thing right this time....nope. Hey 12bar, tell me one more time ...

Re: Les paul question

Thanks, all! My questions were answered. Now I know when I do eventually pick up an LP, I can have them set it up lower for me. I really appreciate the advice from the board rather than trusting the sales guy's opinion.

Les paul question

I figured on lean on my blues friends for some more guitar advice. I tested out a Epiphone LP Goldtop this weekend. I thought the action was set a lot higher than I have on my strat. I was hoping all the LP users could tell me if thats the way they are or if the action can be lowered. Also, whats th...

Re: After Weeding - Sowing

It's funny you mention this because I tested out a Epiphone Goldtop LP this weekend with P-90s. It was nice, but I thought the action was set kinda high. I wanted to ask all the LP users if that's normal. I've never owned a LP, but every one I play seems to have the action set higher than I do on my...

Re: White Room 1990 Rock in Chile Lick

Nice. Thanks for posting.

Interesting seeing him playing it on a strat and getting such a great sound from it when I believe he played it originally on a gibson (correct me if i'm wrong).
