Re: zepp
Thanks, lefty! I'm thinking you're talking about this one: sOA9NEmw32A I had never seen this before. It's cool to see them all up on stage together. As for the drugs being the problem, it was also what helped make some of the great music we love so much. So maybe the answer is just don't over do it....

I thought I remember reading a little slap In the Clapton autobiography, but I could be wrong.

Hi all, I haven't been around in a while, just didn't have much to contribute. But I came across this video which is pretty interesting: http://www.everythingisaremix.info/watch-the-series/ The first part talks about Led Zepp and why they were criticized so much (by Clapton, too, I think). I've alwa...

chicago bluesfest 2011
I figure with the Chicago bluesfest this weekend (and because I haven't contributed to the site much lately), I'd post some of the acts I saw to pass on some blues history. The theme this year is Robert Johnson. Sam Lay http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Lay N4swvi2fbqk I stumbled upon him and was sur...

Re: Amazing finds on Youtube
Hey 12 bar, I believe I've heard you mention an ill fated blues tour somewhere. Care to elaborate for us newbies that just learned to appreciate Clapton more recently? I've found a couple "bootleg" Clapton "blues concerts" and also seen tickets stubs of Clapton playing a blues sh...

And as long as we're sharing, I like this one off his newest. I really like the 'mini-solo' starting at 3:30.

Re: John Mayer
I agree with the majority of the board, I started liking him at Continuum and Battle Studies has grown on me. He has a softness to his playing that I really dig. People's opinion on Mayer has always fascinated me. He gets a lot of crap for his personal stuff, but it's hard to deny his great guitar p...

Re: Greatest guitar solo....ever
Ok i know i posted at the beginning of this thread with a list of quite a few different songs but i decided i would stick to the rules and pick just one. And of course it had to be a Peter Green song, for me there has never been a better player, Hendrix, Clapton, Page, Beck, you can keep them all b...

This is a tough one, I really like either Buddy Guy or Clapton's solos on Five Long Years.
Viking, I really like Brother in Arms, too.
This was a great post idea!

Nice. I've always wanted to stop in one of those pawn shops and see what kind of guitars they have. Did you get a good deal? Do they let you play it prior to buying?
