Re: Travelin' Alone

I would tab it out, but I don't have a guitar with me at the moment. I know Eric plays it with a cape on 2 (the electric version at least, I don't know if he capoed when he played acoustic on tour). It was pretty easy to figure out though, I just grabbed my gitbox and listened to the track a few tim...

Re: Clapton - Playing Gibson's again !!

He definitely needs to bring the Lp on tour with him. If I have to hear crossroads (again) having him play a Paula would be awesome.

Bob Dylan Live in 2010

I know that, at first blush, it might not seem that Dylan is the right sort of artist to discuss on a blues guitar forum. That said, you should all go see him if you get the chance. I just got home from the show he played in St. Louis Missouri and let me tell you that was some thunderous rock and ro...

I'm just glad that the iTunes and Amazon bonus tracks are available for individual purchase. That really made my day. Midnight Hour Blues is fantastic.

http://blogs.eagle969.com/derek/2010/08/19/hear-the-new-eric-clapton-track-run-back-to-your-side/ That is really strange In the event that this one changes also, just google search "Clapton run back to your side" (without the quotes, apparently) and click the link that says "Eagle 96....

Here is the version of Run Back To Your Side. Which was the "slide song" from the Euro tour with Winwood.

This a pretty cool blues number, played with slides for all of the solos.

I think I'll do something with a G harp on this. Harp and acoustic for sure, maybe with some licks from the gibson... sounds like a plan

Pretty good. I do hope there are some more energetic tunes on the album, but overall I think that this is a sign of good things to come.

Re: Guitar that's a "slow burn"

My ES-135 and my Rickenbacker Bass were both gifts (although I did select the Gibson) and I have had them for years, but it was not until recently that I fell truly in love with them.

Re: ฺBest string for blues?

I just put a set of Ernie Ball power slinky (11-48) on my EC strat, which is currently tuned down one half-step, like SRV/Hendrix. For most of my guitar playing career I have used EB regular slinky (10-42 I think) which receive my highest praise so far. Whether or not I go back to them on the strat ...

I'll be there. Looking forward to Derek Trucks and Susan, of course (Roadsongs is far and away my album of the year so far) Joe, Buddy, EC, John Mayer, Johnny Lang, Robert Cray and more.

Shame about the Allmans.

Re: Clapton Winwood 2010 tour

Thats the thing, it is not from the EC album Money and Cigarettes, but rather a cover of a song from The Band's album Stage Fright. That is what makes it so incredible for me.
