Re: Fuzz Face DIY kit

There seems to be a general trend - overdone CDs that are all extra volume but no dynamic range, supercharged super-hot pickups, factory presets on a huge variety of multi-fx gear that make your guitar sound like a bad incredibly busy day in a combined boiler factory and sawmill. :motz: I agree. It...

Re: 5E3 blues in E

So, Michael, is that a 5E3 amp, or a modeler patch? What guitar were you using? The bottom end was very tight considering the amount of drive you were producing.

Re: Darn, did it again

The G Major always got a lot of praise from those "addicted" to effects. There are a lot of effects in that one box, for sure. Way too many for me to try and figure out. Enjoy your new purchase.
I was just about to start a thread asking about you for more info on the Okko Diablo.

Re: New Amp

Tech21 makes good stuff. I've owned a few of their pedals and a Trademark 10 amp. I've always thought their amp sims sounded very tube like for SS. I'd like to have a Trademark 60 amp. Never messed with the TM30, though.

Re: Corporate money shuts down the little guy

"Corporate suits" might be a bit of too complimentary a term in this instance. They are more like an organization of mafioso thugs. Many in the music industry, both performers and venue owners, in this country feel that BMI is nothing short of a mob sanctioned protections racket . ...

Re: Smooth Minor Blues. Help and advice requested :)

Just to let you know where I'm coming from, I'm not a metal or classical music fan. I know both genres have their fans. I've never been one. I don't like pointy guitars like Jacksons. I like Strats and Teles. :oldie: I do like some of Zappa's tunes. Now having said that your playing is very technica...

Re: Saturday Night Blues

I can barely see in this dimly lit bar room, and the cigarette smoke is choking me. The music makes me want to stay for another brandy.

Re: Lounge lizards strike again...

I totally agree with Vikingblues. Just because a tune is jazzy, it shouldn't preclude having fun. If music wasn't a fun journey, it would have lost me a long time ago. Well, that is, I'd be farther off the trail than I already am. Now back to practicing that C7#9 and those 9th, 11th and 13th extende...

Re: Corona In The Sun YT version and sound, guitar specifics

Never had a San Miguel, but a Peroni would suit me just fine.

Suave, very suave, tytleblues. :high5:

Thanks for the tech info.

Thanks for the update, tytlblues.

13's! :yikes:

I should have guessed you were using flatwounds. I've just gone to 1/2 rounds on my Epi Sheraton. I bought a set of regular flats, as well, but both sets are only .11's. My fingers hurt just thinking about .13's.

Re: A new amp, so a new song in progress

The CT is still one of the best modeling amps around. Fender did a great job designing this amp. I wish they had developed it more instead of going off in other directions with this technology.
Great sound, 2Wheels.

VB, I think this would make a great TWBB bar room tune, but maybe you and Sandra need to come over to our local pub and perform this little ditty yourselves. I enjoyed it. A fun tune!

Re: Corona In The Sun, smooth jazz

Very, very nice. I need more info. What guitar? Neck, or middle pickup position? I know you are probably using an amp model off of some kind of computer interface, but which amp model? This is a sound I would love to get closer to in my own playing. A lot of it is in your technique/fingers, that's a...

Congratulation! That's a real milestone. It's really cool when one of our forum members takes another big step.  Indeed, it is a milestone. Kudos for taking the step in this direction.
