Re: aggiefan

:welcome: Aggiefan - welcome to our little blues haven - or blues heaven - both descriptions fit. As Strummer guessed I'm more than pleased to have another member join the forum who has some Vox gear (Vox AC4TV, VT15, Tonelab ST), although we're rapidly being swamped by the Cyber Twin tribe. :alrigh...

Re: VINTAGE® STRATOCASTER V6L-VW

I'm planning to get me a VINTAGE® STRATOCASTER V6L-VW (hsssssh, my Lady don't have a clue  ) http://www.musiikkiliike.fi/index.php?target=products&product_id=30719 I've been reading few review about it, and I got a positive impression about it from the reviews. Also I remember that VB ...

Re: New - old gear time again

Thanks VB.. I was lucky and am enjoying this years tax return the musical way :D I did another noodle session after I connected the Roland GR-50 and the Roland SC55 I am using on of the buttons on the GK2 as a kind of "hold" function in the GR-50 it's called Sustaino-S When I play a chord...

Re: New - old gear time again

Ok, took the roland upstairs, connected it quick and fooled around with some patches (read noodled around) No editing just the plain old Roland using the current (previous owners) settings. No number one hit , no connections to my other midi equipment so no soundfonts (must be nice to use though) H...

Re: New - old gear time again

There seems to be remarkably little on line about this piece of kit.

What there is does look intriguing. I look forward to hearing it get through its paces.

Congratulations on finding the cure for your GAS attack.

Re: Anyone in for a HBL mix ?

Thanks folks :D Still waiting for another approach or jam ;) Well, after his holiday and the relaxed creative mood now long gone, somebody called VikingBlues has been having a go at doing a mix, but someone called VikingBlues has got nowhere fast. :wall: It sounds very good with the BT and ei...

Absolutely. Two Quarter Final matches that would both be more than suitable as a Final.

Re: Beauty at Marnies

Hi VB, This final remix sounds really good to my ear. I went back and re-listened to your original and the first remix. I'm not sure now why I thought the vocals in the first remix still should come more forward. I guess when you first listen you are working hard to get all the words and so you wan...

Re: Beauty at Marnies

Final mix on this. I was finding my first remix of the vocal, although bringing the vocal up in the mix was just a bit too "processed". On the car CD player it sounded slighlty like some sheep had got in on the vocals here and there. http://soundclick.com/share?songid=9329935 Not lik...

Re: Had to show off my new Cyber Twin

Sweet sounds sweetly played. Thanks LzyBlue. VB: How can anyone post a coherent message at 6.15 AM !!!! Unless they haven't been to bed yet. Worse than that - due to British Summer time it was an hour earlier at 5:15 am. :yikes: First day back at work - woke at 5.00 am - bit down - cheered myself u...

Re: Paul McCartney at Hard Rock Calling 2010

Glad you enjoyed the gig Strummer - I can hear your enthusiasm coming through loud and clear in your description. You got some good value in that set - shows an artist can still have stamina around the free bus pass sort of age. Well found with the video btw - now when can I fit that into...

Air Guitar taken to a new level

You see the odd air guitar for sale on e-bay. Here's a nice sounding air guitar on YouTube. The Orange amps will help of course!

Re: Beauty at Marnies

Quite nice, VB. I can hear much more confidence in your playing, and your singing compliments it very well. Comparisons to Knopfler (one of my very favorites) and Chris Rea are on the mark. Good job! I wish I could compose lyrics, but simply singing other peoples lyrics is challenge enough. Thank y...

Re: ICan't Bend my Strings!

So much more difficult to do bends on an acoustic as MojoJim and microtech have said. Although I think after three weeks I was probably still struggling at just playing notes! With the normal strings I had on my Tanglewood I would need a bionic hand and fingers to bend the sods. :wall: The situation...

Re: Beauty at Marnies

VB - This sounds like your best yet. Your guitar playing sounds a bit more assertive on this song. It may be because of the propulsive percussion of the BT. But it seems to me that you are playing a bit more on the front edge of the beat. I think the languid atmospherics on some of your other songs...

Re: Barfly

Crikey! Talk about creative juices flowing. Just had a listen and it's great stuff. (Do my ears deceive or do I detect a bit of tasteful reverb on the vocal there?) Only trouble is, you're setting the bar a bit high for the rest of us. Nice one. Ahhh - you spotted the reverb - the secrets out! :shy...
