Re: Story of fellow member losaavedra
thanks for posting this story. I really enjoyed reading it. My love of the Blues and guitar playing began with Big Bill Broonzy in the 60's and I remember seeing many of the bands mentioned and meeting John Mayall.

Hi Ratfink,
Just my cup of coffee!
Great swing feel and I like your solo treatment.
I think my Blues playing playing preference has moved on from Chicago to 'Jazzy'.
Thanks for posting.

Hi and MikeL!
What a great choice of guitar.
Now you can make it your life's work to turn 'Orange County' into 'Blues County'.

Re: any advice and tips on my blues playing? (video)
First of all, Welcome! I enjoyed parts of the video and there were some interesting riffs/runs, but there were also too many scale runs at high speed, which I find distracting and boring. They left me thinking:'this young man is showing what he can do technically, but mostly without 'feel' for the B...

Re: Theme Song To Your Life?
No theme song for my life, but when I fall off my perch, I want 'While my guitar gently weeps', with George Harrison playing the lead
There would be different themes for different periods of my 64 years (Blues, Rock, Jazz). For now let's say Mark Knopfler's 'Brothers in Arms'.

Re: Gary Moore - RIP
What a sad day. A nice guy and one of the great rock/blues exponents.
For me "Still got the Blues for You" will always define his passionate blues playing/singing
and the very underrated rock album "Looking at You" is, imo. the best.
Long may we remember him.

Re: Going Down Slow
Hi Lefty, I found this 'orchestral' version very disappointing, as was EC's singing . I suggest you look at Wayne Allman's version. I play it using variations of C, F, G and the C Blues scale as a basis for soloing. Good Luck with it. It's one of those Blues that makes the hairs on my neck stand up....

I'm no theory expert, but, looking at the boxes, BB uses a mix of maj./min. pentatonics with passing notes.

Rationalisation/Downsizing!!
First of all, Happy New Year everybody  As I'm days away from 64 and having retired last August, I decided to downsize at the same time achieving ownership of the amp I've dreamt of for the last 3 years. I sold my beautiful USA Strat after 13 years of joy as well as my Adam Black Libra UK in o...
