Re: A strange night...(doublebooked at the bar)

I really admire your playing Blindboy and I'm not surprised Edric did too - over and above that I'm in awe of anyone who can stand up in front of a crowd and play - glad you had fun after such a rocky start to the evening. Thanks VB. Playing in front of people really isn't that hard, (e...

Re: Welcome

And Blindboy, where 'bouts is your digs in New Mexico? I'm in Fort Collins which is at the base of the eastern foothills 70 miles north of Denver and 40 miles south of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Was just reading about your last open jam. What a scene! Things can sure turn around sometimes. I've heard your ...

Re: A strange night...(doublebooked at the bar)

True, Strummer. A few tempers got kind of hot at the beginning of the night, but it all worked out. Hopefully there will be better communication henceforth.

A strange night...(doublebooked at the bar)

Open mic was pretty wierd last night. We showed up with all our gear, and the bartender told us that the owner had hired another band. :motz:  Then, when they were late showing up, he (the owner) told us to go ahead and set up. We were just about ready to roll, when the other ba...

Re: Ibanez Artcore AF75T - Possible Buy

I have an AF75, stock, without the Bigsby, and it is a nice guitar. I got it slightly used (still had the plastic film on the pickguard) for $200, so $400 with the Gibson pickups and the Bigsby is probably a good buy. I play mine quite a bit and like it a lot.

:welcome: oneeyedslide. I am from a short distance south of you (compared to the rest of this forum). I am somewhat computer challanged as well. I like to do some tinkering too. I am the owner of the FrankenStrat (or it owns me, I'm never too sure). Looking forward to hearing more from you. ...

Minor problem with P-90s on my Casino

Anybody else using P-90s run into this? When using the neck pickup (the one I use most often) and bending the high E, the signal drops off noticably. :wall: Volume is well balanced at all other times, so I am reluctant to raise the pole piece. It appears that when I bend the string away from the pol...

Re: On a wire... mind your ears <G>

Whoo! Man, this is serious stuff. The blues is all about emotion (most music is), and this puts it out there with no mistake. I am truly sorry that your world is out of whack, and I hope that things get better soon. :alright: Don't be too quick to put down your vocals... They are pretty much perfect...

Re: The guitar question I hate asking

Strummer and Weelie both have good suggestions. I like Weelie's remark about vintage "cheapies" That is the route I take. If you do some research and know what you are looking at, you can find very cool blues guitars for not a lot of money. By the way, I misremembered the name of the store...

Re: The guitar question I hate asking

Seagull makes a decent parlour guitar for a reasonable price. That is all I can think of off the top of my head, but I will check around and get back to you. I play a Regal parlour guitar from the '50s that I paid $120 for in Seattle a few years ago. If you get to Seattle, check out a store called T...

Re: The Dead Bird (a mournful blues)

I like this... Great mood piece. Nice playing, sounds like you are getting a grip on that modal stuff. I haven't a clue about modes. (I think I use some kind of mode for some jazzy things, but I don't know what it is. :icon_whoknows: )

Re: Evil Collab w/Bluesinbflat

Thanks VB. You know, it is Bluesinbflat's song, I just played a solo, but I get a charge out of it being top of the chart.
Gerd, how about a "high five" smiley.
