Oh yeah, I forgot to mention a reverb pedal is a great addition since this amp has no reverb or anything else to complicate it.

Re: Ho.. Ho... Ho...

Sometimes you can find 'em used on Ebay for a decent price. They're pretty bullet-proof so the used ones are still a good bet. They are also easy to modify and hot rod.

I've got the 5w head with the 12" Lucky Lady speaker cab. I think it's a keeper. Damn loud for 5watts!

Re: A Firebird limitid edition for an early christmas/birthd

Cool! Always wanted a firebird! My birthday's coming up soon too. (hint, hint). I want one of the old Gibson ones with the early Firebird "mini" humbuckers. But I'd settle for humbuckers any day. Nice guitar El Mano!

Re: musical motivation? what keeps you go on and on?

Hey suco! Welcome back. Sounds like you've got "The Blues" pretty bad right now so you're probably in the right place here. Don't mean to diminish it in any way when I say your problems have a familiar ring to them (most folks here would probably agree). Except for the part about school, R...

Re: Blocking the Trem?

El Mano, if you ever write a book cataloging all your creative approaches to "Doing it yourself" I'm gonna buy it!! Allways a better mousetrap (sorry, another Harley reference)! Actually this forum has more than its share of creativity. I take the easy way with spring tension. Tighten up t...

Way cool!! Seeing you and the famous Strat in action! Looks and sounds great! Some day I hope I have the courage to simply record myself and share it! You can be very proud of this lovely creation and the way it gives voice to your music. And don't take Spoonfull's teasing about your dog's hair seri...

Re: Gentlemen, it is my duty

When you said you saw them in Maine I figured there's no way I'll get to see them. But they're from Kansas! That's just a few hundred miles downstream from here so they are going onto my MUST SEE list. Thanks Lefty Slim! Love the cigar box bass! Anybody ever see one of those "cookie tin" o...

Re: Firebird X

Now that's a "concept guitar" I like. So much for exploring new technologies. I guess I haven't learned enough about the old technologies. The new ones seem like distractions sometimes. Is this an attention deficit issue I have?

Yeah! I suppose it doesn't matter where or when it's made as long as it's a practical product from a good idea and you can keep the seagulls away from it.
I can't talk. I have two Squiers and an Epiphone and drive Honda cars.

Re: Firebird X

Harley Davidson did survive by targeting a different market... I still prefer the "real" traditional Firebird. And I'd ride my old kick-start Panhead before a new Harley any day.

OUCH!!! Maybe it's just my age (again), but when I think Firebird I can't get beyond Johnny Winters Playing Dylan's "Highway 61 Revisited". Even if I had the money to buy this "Firebird", it just doesn't fly.

Re: Les Paul Project Diary

I've run into pickup spacing variations several times too. Maybe that is one of those details that makes a "copy" less of a "copy"? As usual El Mano comes up with some way cool methodology for cutting or creating pickguards! And Golfxzq, that drill press rig beats all! Just stay ...

Awesome!! Been keepin' up with the strat and LP building, not to mention the Frankenstrat and relic'd SRV. Love 'em all. Very creative and inspirational work here!
