Re: Rocket to Chicago
Liked that one! I can hear the train and the slide all fits. Had another listen to one or two of your Soundclicks. Your normal style (to me) is more like the guitar parts on some of Jimmy Witherspoon's albums where the support band is (probably) a trio or quartet. I'll try to dig out the cassette (!...

Re: Making a New Black & Tan 4X12 Cab
Super job!!
Just curious ... what's going on the bottom? Wheels or straight onto the floor? My cabs are mostly without wheels but rather that gradually destroy the bottom covering cloth I screw a bit of sacrificial lumber to the base and just replace that when it gets chewed up. Just a thought.

I don't know if others have this worry too, but I'm very nervous about buying any software / interface that involves music recording on a PC - I just know that it's most likely it won't work at all or will need a long struggle to iron out the flaws and incompatabilities. : Same feeling about comput...

Re: Making a New Black & Tan 4X12 Cab
Really nice looking build ... looking forward to seeing the final result. I'm doing a 12" plus two 8" cab but it's been stuck in the work-in-progress department for over a year partly due to other activities but also because the boss can't see how I could possibly need "yet another sp...

Swamp Paddle!
Blindboy´s post of April 7 (re. Pinecone Fletcher) kicked off this home-build project which is currently at the 'final setup' stage. I've always wanted to get into slide playing but my other two electrics have very low actions and XL strings and any attempt to do slide on them gets drowned out by a ...

Re: "I SEE"... a work in progress
I've listened to this a couple of times because I got a bit lost in the abundance of strongly emotive words that seemed to me to be over-separated from the interesting musical stuff going on behind, but both of which are independently 'goers'. With a bit more 'stitching together' this one could inde...

Re: Ghosts
Very competent playing and general production. Nothing wrong with the vocal except that I think it deserves to be a little bit more prominent from within the mix. Style and genre is more Eagles/Dire Straights than the blues, but that ain't no crime! Well done.

Re: This guy is outta hand!!!!
Yes, the first guy is the kinda blues man I really like, the second is way to smooth for me! The three-string is similar to one Seasick Steve over in UK plays (although he's from States originally) ... well worth a look for anyone not come across him before. You Tube Seasick Steve will bring up a lo...

Re: hows this for a slight beginner?
Good effort this, in my opinion. The most useful (hopefully!) comment I might make is that, because the blues originated from a sung (rather than purely instrumental) form, the latter gets to be 'more the blues' if what's played on the lead guitar follows, or rather is offset against, whatever might...

Re: Hi from Spain ... another Noobie!
Thanks for all the welcomes guys. I'm finding lots of interesting EC stuff here ... took me way back in time to '63 when I first saw the blues light at the Yardbirds/Sonny Boy recording at the Craw Daddy Club, Richmond on 8 December that year. After that it was every week at the Star in Croydon well...

Hi from Spain ... another Noobie!
Hi all, My name's Mike and I've lived in Spain for 14 years. I've just joined 12bar ... nice to find a site more on how to do the music than just about gear, instruments, etc.! Some of the stuff I did a few years back can be found at ... http://www.soundclick.com/rojalesbluesband ... also some bio d...
