Re: Second Line Blues
I like this EJ, great dancey feel to it and I really like your tone, what guitar was it? Sounded like it might have been a hollowbody.

Re: Need Your Guitar Skills so Bad
A very good shot at a tricky one. Nice tone and feel. For decades I thought Peter Green had written this one, but it was penned by Mertis John and recorded by his brother Little Willie John (an unfortunate stage name) in 1956.

Nice playing Michael, Your timing was good and I especially like the sustained notes, very bluesy.

Nice one VC. You handled this well. I like the sound of your Peerless. Could you post a pic as I've heard very good things about these guitars and I'm curious.

Re: El Mano Goes Low!
Wow what a bargain. Looks really good. I believe every guitarist would benefit from owning a bass. Nice to see Chicken Shack and Stan Webb mentioned too. I saw them a few times back in the 60's/70's. Great band and Stan is a wonderful bluesman.

Very good guitar work Michael, but the guitar is much louder than the backing. Balance is a must in recording.

Very nice work Michael, getting right in the groove there. I really like it when you do funk tracks, have you got any black blood in the family?

Re: 'Pieces of a Song'
Wow TB, get in there. Knockout stuff. Love the way you used the two guitar sounds and the overlap on the first change was delicious. At times it reminded me of Frank Zappa which is a major plus in my book. Power to your elbow mate, you keep delivering the goods. It's such a pleasure to be part of th...

Re: Love In Vain
Thanks a lot folks for the kind words. For a start I had to learn to play in a pure major style which involved considerable practise. Then I had everything done except the vocals, but decided it was too slow so I upped the tempo from 88 to 92 bpm and started again. When it came to the vocals I recko...

Love In Vain
After a major struggle I got this one down. Incorporating my five string for bass duties, my little 00 12fret for rhythm and my JJ on P90/SC for lead.

Re: New Amp - Silverface Champ
Very nice amp, a bit of history really. My nephew has a seventies Vibrochamp which looks very similar. The two prominent makes of speaker would be Jensen or Weber I think oh and Eminence come to think of it. Anyway enjoy your new baby, it certainly looks good despite the canine customisation.

I reckon it's because slide sounds so vocal Mark. It sounds so much closer to the human voice which of course doesn't have frets.

Re: Very nearly a NAD
Well I just went over to Youtube and watched a bunch of G Dec demos and I'm very impressed. Fender are really in touch with players needs these days and that amp exemplifies it. I can see why you're excited, it'd be hard to imagine anything more suited to your needs. Your own demo had a stellar tone...

Re: Mellow Nights , smooth blues/Jazz
Stunningly good TB. Faultless really. A long and very musical octave passage followed by delicious licks and then alternation. The tone was beautiful and the way you mixed it in didn't sound like someone playing over a backing track, it sounded as if you were in on the original recording session. Yo...

Mark me old mucker that was great, I was singing along with you there. A pity it ended so soon. I'd like to hear more from this earthy quarter. Swamp me again.
