Re: Had a rip-roaring jam on the five way stop corner tonigh

My dad recorded a couple of videos, I will try and get it up soon! On Badge, it took me a while toe get the arpeggios right, and I am not sure that my guitar teacher has it down. It is confusing as I play it his way with him, and the correct way at home.

Had a rip-roaring jam on the five way stop corner tonight!

Hi all! I had my weekly jam with my guitar teacher again, after he got back from Colorado where he was last week, on the five way corner again. Here was our setlist: Summer Song (By Joe Satriani, a nice jam in A Mixolydian/Dorian Stairway to Heaven (This was a shout out request from a passer by, Opp...

Re: Collab Blues G7

It appears I've gotten to this party a little too late. Hope we do another one soon!

A Couple of Celebratory Doodles

Hi all! I passed my accounting class yesterday, on the very last day of term (Whew!"), so I whipped out Layla to do some doodles. On the second one, on Jazz Swing Blues by Pete Anderson, my iPhone cut off the last 1:30 of playing for some reason, so it stops abruptly, so my sincerest apologies....

Re: Head Cold Blues

I am using the iRig into the computer, it is a little connector that you can plug you guitar into to plug into an iPad/Phome and Mac. I would suspect perhaps that is it. I think it must be, because when I did the built in mic recordings, there was no latency. Odd, but thankful it is not musician err...

Head Cold Blues

Hi all! I am getting over a strange head cold/virius thing and noodled around on Pete Anderson's Jazz Swing blues. Using the Garageband on my laptop, I did four solos on four different guitars. 1st solo: Layla (EC Strat) 2nd Solo Narcissa (Fender Toronado) 3rd Solo Andromeda (Ibanez AS73) 4th Solo T...

A Synth Experiment

Hi all! While playing with Garageband on my iPad, I decided to try playing some some of the pre built Apple loops, and found three cool synth loops. Then I played a little bit of lead, though I was not comfortable with the synth, as this is away different than any style of music I have played to bef...

Allan Holdsworth Clinic Live Stream

Hi all! Carvin is hosting a UStream of the Allan Holdsworth Clinic at the Factory, located here: www.carvinguitars.com/holdsworth/. It has been an interesting listen so far, hearing him discuss his influences, how he wanted to play horns and trumpet, and listen to him play. He is currently playing a...

Re: Tough Days

Yes, I feared that my disappointment and rage might have been too muchfor the guitar, or that I was going to magically play some heavy metal! The only time I can think of that I play coose to this isat our weekly sidewalk jams, and a pretty young lady walks by, then I just lose it, and do something ...

Re: Tough Days

Thanks!

I must say, after playing the guitar, I feel like my mind has been re-balanced in a very good way.

Tough Days

Hi all! Well, the accounting test I studied for did not go my way today, but what is most frustrating was I was only a few percentage points from making the outscore, and onto of that, I still have a bit of a cold. Combine those factors and I was fellin pretty lousy. After I calmed down a lot, I pic...

Re: I Caught the Cold

Thanks VB! I see what you mean, I have a pretty decent clean sound on my POD X3 Live pedalboard, but I prefer at home to use my Micro Cube for the cleaner sounds. I kind of think that big names, like Eric Clapton have figured that out long ago, when they went from over the top distortion to just per...

I Caught the Cold

Hi all! Another sick-song. I am getting better, but still feel a tad sickly. Well, this one has a fairly obvious title, and when creating the backing track, I was influenced by "I Shot a Sheriff", and decided to give it a go, on Garageband. Just me improvising on my Eric Clapton Strat &quo...

Re: Sick as a Dog

Thank you everybody for your kind wishes!

My jaw pain is significantly better, and I still have a bit of a cold, but that is ok! I just played some guitar on a bit of a study break for my accounting class, which I am taking the test tomorrow.

Sick as a Dog

Hi all! I recently had an oral implant surgery, on Thursday, and then somehow a cold came down on me as well, as I was recovering from the surgery, so it was a double whammy. In my frustration, and in between taking pain meds, I came up with this little jam, over a drum/piano BT I made in garageband...

Rainy Day

Hi all!

I was noodling around on Layla and created this little progression, which I then did a solo over. I think it has a very peaceful and melodic sound, and when I finally got it all tracked, I was enchanted by it.

I would have to say that this song was my personal favorite recording in 2011!
