Re: Ghosts

This is a great song, really well put together, all the playing is spot on and I couldn't find fault with it anywhere.

Re: Dreaming of Aeolian

Well you have commented several times about me achieving a Peter Green sound on my recordings, I have to say this sounds very Greeny in places, but the more recent Green playing. This could have been a Splinter Group song easily with Peter's raspy vocals on it. Nicely executed and fluent playing thr...

Re: Working Mans Blues

That's one great collab you've worked up there. I'm sure a lot of the group will echo the sentiments of the song and will be able to relate to it well. The theme of the backing fit the mood of the song nicely and it almost sounded like Portishead - Roads. I consider myself quite lucky in the work as...

Re: You Gotta' Start Young...

That is the scariest thing I have ever seen, talk about "Village of the damned". The way they all move in perfect unison is definitely something straight out of a horror movie. Seriously though can you imagine the levels of practice they have to endure...I'm all for starting kids early on ...

Re: The Dorian and Ionian Seas

Not quite sure what to call it either, has that Arabian feel to it again but a bit more rocky. At the start you seemed like you hadn't been playing much but once it got going the old Viking wizardry kicked in and there was some good stuff going on, I particularly liked the break down in the middle, ...

Re: Poor Pinky

Yes play more guitar, getting more strength is a natural process the same as going to a gym, there is no quick way to get a six pack you have to work at it, play until it hurts then stop and rest until it doesn't, don't keep playing if your in pain that's just pointless. There are some exercise mach...

Re: Soapbar time

I look forward to hearing the difference, maybe do some direct comparisons and put sound samples of before and after (if you have any still). Thats going to be a long three weeks for you, I waited a month for my Sorrento so I know how you feel.

Re: All Over Again (Solo Version)

Well I really didn't expect comments like that, this song means a lot to me and I was happy with the recording but to hear how well it has come across from your side of it is really great. I cannot say enough how much your comments mean to me either and the confidence I get from them is more than yo...

All Over Again (Solo Version)

As I said in the I've Got A Mind collab thread, this is my favourite blues song of all time and since the first time I heard it I wanted to record my own version of it. Peter Green's guitar work is my favourite solo ever on the live version on YouTube and it's after hearing that version that I began...

Re: The Man Behind the Mask

I can hear many influences, Floyd, Knopfler, Chris Rea. Well put together and the sound quality is good despite the "crappy usb mic". I enjoyed it but the one thing I was waiting for was for it to kick up a gear in the second solo rather than stay at the steady pace. But ignore me, I'm no ...

Sounds like the makings of a great night if that song was anything to go by. Harmonica is a great addition to your sound.
Well done guys and gals.

Re: Prepping for - Down and out

Thanks guys. you know what springs to mind whole day........ Just play the the full song with only the rhythm guitars, no drums, no bass, no piano etc. To try and keep the song small and intimate. What do you think? I think it's a great idea that can produce a more passionate song than full band go...

Re: My "ukulele guitar" Little Martin

A very happy little ditty, I wish I could play that sort of stuff but don't seem to get around to doing it.
Guitar sounded nice, probably a lot nicer live than on recordings too.

Re: I've Got A Mind Collab?

Mike, I'm afraid I have to skip this one after all, I'm to busy to manage to play something listen worthy this week. Besides the stuff I'm working on for myself, I have a collab going on. And then there is work....... Sorry No need to be sorry HBL, like I said I haven't been working on it much eith...

Ouch to both of you, hope this collab isn't cursed.
There's no rush to get this done Gerd so we can wait until your finger is healed up before you do any more work on the song.
I haven't done much lately towards my solo either, came up with a great ending though.

Re: Synthia Size 4

VB messaged me saying he had removed some of his lead guitar and did I want to try putting more of the searing lead part to it. So I had a go, I found it very difficult to come up with something that sounded acceptable as I rarely play anything apart from standard blues these days so this was a real...

Has a B.B.-ish feel to the tune. Probably what he would sound like if he played a Strat. Had me tapping along in my chair, enjoyed listening, well done.
