Re: So ends a very nice 5 day weekend...blues for back to wo
Very cool. Was the strat plugged straight into your computer? I really like the tone that you've gotten with it. Thanks, Yes basically. First plugged into a small usb interface, then into the mac. My interface is the Tascam 144, no effects just a small bit of preamp to boost the signal. Then plugge...

So ends a very nice 5 day weekend...blues for back to work!
Going for a Robert Cray sort of vibe. Heavy on reverb and tremolo, Strat recorded into into garage band.

Re: The Shame in Spain
There is no shame in that Spain.........mission accomplished on the Spanish vibe, nice. I do like the tone you are getting also. I have said it before, and will say it again, I like your style of playing, very melodic.....simple. That DOES NOT imply simplistic, as in boring. I find you can be very m...

Re: A Song for the Unrelenting Texas Heat
Thanks 2wheels, I appreciate it. I will give you the settings, but as our rigs/setups are totally different, not sure it will help. Basic tone, Epi Les Paul, Bridge pickup whole song. Volume and tone control on full (wide open). On pedal board, Full drive OCD overdrive pedal. Volume 12 o;clock, driv...

A Song for the Unrelenting Texas Heat
"Slow Burn" BT aptly named, I think it applies for the crazy Texas heat, and all over for that matter. Some clunkers, but you know what? Don't care.......just needed to vent on the guitar. :music2: Epi Les Paul, OCD Fulltone OD pedal into Garageband. http://12bar.de/community/downl...

GAS never will Stop!........Mic'ed amps Vs. Computer
OK ladies and gentleman, and ALL 12bar's. I have GAS......I currently record into a MAC, into Garage Band, through a Tascam USB 144 MkII interface. Also some various pedals on my board. An 80's vintage tube screamer (always on with the Strat), Fulltone OCD, Cry baby wah. While this yields OK results...

Re: A Jazzier Blues
Thanks all, I appreciate the good comments. I was thinking that blindboy hit the nail on the head for me also, I never considered jazz very user friendly, I do not "get it". so after a few brief tries at real jazz, I am happy for now trying to play something jazz-esck, ish. Viking, what yo...

Hbl, I think it has potential, I'm in. Are you going to add any drums or base, or just lengthen the pure guitar track?
Either way, sounds good.
