I hate to say it but I love the shape of the body. Not a big fan of piezo pickups, though.

Re: blues advice need

Well, one of the greatest blues guitarists of all time were ones that imitated the blues, and they learnt exactly by learning the songs. You can't fake that, and while it does seem like a grind, I believe it's the quickest way of nailing it down. Perhaps we can all give you some songs that we consid...

Re: Do you use Blues Licks to solo?

Interesting. Transposing melody lines from other songs into blues playing is something I've done a few times without even noticing it at first. I remember having done this with the melody of "Son of a preacher man" recorded by Dusty Springfield, and the chorus from "Chain gang" b...

Oh yeah, I think everyone's fond of Bluesbreakers with EC. Completely forgot about it.

Your favourite blues record

I like Freddie King's first record, "Freddie King sings" perhaps best. It's filled with classics such as Tore down, Have you ever loved a woman and I love the woman. My personal favourite is "If you believe (In what you do)", Freddie's voice on that is unequaled for me. I also li...

Re: White room improv

Too bad, can't imagine the dissapointment. It looks very beautiful, though, and that must have made it even worse  Quite educational thread though, at least for me since I've been searching for a good SG.

Re: White room improv

Yeah, the Wilkinson hardware and pups are really something for the price. I'm wondering, what was wrong with the Gibbie SG? Yeah, Peter Green got me really really quick. Clapton I've listened to for years but it wasn't before the Beano album that I started to value his playing. Though I only heard a...

Re: The price of playing the blues

PG and EC are perfect examples (although they don't play here  ), but don't forget BB King and the old masters. PG and EC came to my mind because they discovered the blues unintentionally and found themselves in it, and it must have been great personal suffering that got them over the wall of ...

The price of playing the blues

... is feeling the blues. My playing skyrocketed in the latest period - the period in which I'm overwhemingly sad. Blues used to be scales and licks but lately it's just this unique expression that only I'm satisfied with. I always felt the blues is not an artistic form - and there's nothing manufac...

Unfortumately can't seem to find the first song. This one is quite interesting melodically. Not my sort of music but good stuff for sure.

Re: White room improv

Thank you guys! Very sorry to hear about your arthritis, but acoustic blues is where's it's at :oldie: I picked up my V6 strat first of all because it looked stunning (see pic) and it felt amazing when I tried it. Not sure about their attentiveness to marketing (still skeptical about their choice of...

I saw the second video a couple of months ago, I think it was trending on yt or something, but the first one is brilliant as well. The little bends she makes on her chords sound really sweet.

Re: White room improv

The guitar used is a Vintage V6 Strat (don't be confused, the Vintage is the name of the company), I think played on the hambucker (it has a double coil on the bridge). It is played through Guitar Rig over a youtube backing track made by this guy . The real life equivalencies of the gear I had in Gu...

White room improv

Most of it is rhythm to recreate the original playing. The soloing is on the outro. I like playing it because I don't follow the chord changes and just freak out on it. There's a couple of mistakes, but please let me know how you feel about it, so I can do it again when I get a wah pedal :D

Didn't know about the original tune, I'm glad you showed us though :) Sort of reminds me of greensleeves, and your cover absolutely yearns for Leadbelly to sing over it :D
