Re: Caterpiggle Crawl...
I reckon your "Catterpiggle" crawled with great style there BB.  Played with a great sense of timing and rhythm too, and I really liked the tune too - it's a bring a smile to the face piece. I've got it repeating in the background as a write and each time it starts I have a si...

Re: Mannish Boy Blues collab anyone?
Oops - I'd forgotten about this thread 12bar. If it's OK I'll get along with doing 45 seconds to 1:30, assuming I have no more domestic problems for a day or two.
We're presumably looking for 6 players to fill the piece - 12bar, Viking, Blindboy, Cruisemates so far?

Re: Slow C blues Collaboration anyone?
Nice collab guys!
Always fascinating to see with blues collabs just how many different interpretations and tones can be heard for what some people criticise as being simple music.

Re: New Guitar
Nice guitar LB and the price sounds good too.  It's true what people have been saying that looking at the lefty guitar when you play right handed or vice versa does screw with the head. How is it for weight? Some of us suffer for our art with the Mahogany body boosting t...

Re: My Gibson ES-339
BB - No, this one is a semi-hollow design and has a center block. It's modeled on the classic ES-335 but has the small body of a Les Paul. Since I'm a little guy I needed the smaller body. People claim that Gibson surrendered almost none of the semi-hollow body sound of the ES-335 when they introdu...
Re: Though...
There's something to be said for smaller profile - some semi-hollows you feel like you're a wee kid trying to play an adult guitar.
I feel a bit that way with my bass sometimes, and wish I'd got a short scale.
Good that you've found out the answer anyway.

"Well there's floodin' down in Scotland All of the heating and water are down Well there's floodin' down in Scotland All of the heating and water are down" ...or something... Anyway, terrible to hear! My weekend was to start with Larry Graham funk concert, but, well it was canceled due to...

Re: Relaxing Weekend?
Did you read about the flood? It happened long time ago, in a little country town, way back in North Berwick It gushed out of the shower, it gushed both night and day The people got worried, they began to cry, 'Lord have mercy, where can we go now?' There were women and there was children, screamin...

Re: Relaxing Weekend?
Hope things pick up and you can round off the weekend with a nice dry noodle on the axe ! Might just be possible - 30 hours after the phone call the showers been capped and the water's back on - total time for the repair to be done = 5 minutes! Still got to wait for the repair to be completed so th...

It's a case of  or  This morning the wait for the plumber starts - will we get the promised call out this morning? Exciting isn't it! Really just a minor inconvenieince but we seem to have hit a run of problems this year. :wall: What makes it less fun is that due to eccentric plumbing of t...

Relaxing Weekend?
Anyone having one of those? After I got water gushing out from inside the electric shower casing, and then escaping from the shower enclosure over the bathroom floor, and water coming out from part of the mains pipe in the central heating boiler cupboard I now have no water and no heating. We have 2...

Re: Not singing on the V?
There's something both BadBluesPlayer and Weelie pick up on and thanks for your replies. You both have reservations about your expertise but you're way ahead of me here. Anyway - hmmm... I think I sort of broke a rule there with my blatant disregard for call and response. If I had used th...

Not singing on the V?
Within the thread on my "Black Cat Blues" posted this week, BluesinBb and Blindboy both picked up I didn't sing on the V and let the guitar take over. Although I feel that to me it worked musically, I wondered if anyone could say is this a common device, and if so are there some good examp...

Re: 'My Life'
To avoid confusion... what - confusion about modes and scales - surely not!!! ... when I said that "My Life" was using the Phrygian scale, I should have said the Phrygian Dominant Scale - the one with the major 3rd so in C the major third is E rather than the usual Eb for the normal...

Re: Spring weather in NM aaarrgh!
Some spring BB - I guess it looks nicer from a distance. Do you often get that much snow this late in the year. What does look nice is the studio - doesn't look like a self-build. No fun when you've got to chop your own logs for all your heating though. Hope you get a quick thaw.

Re: Black Cat Blues
I liked that a lot, VB. Particularly impressive that you did the composing, arranging, writing, playing and producing. What a heartfelt story in a few verses. I was listening to it this afternoon and looking out the window into the garden. I was watching old orange Chester lying in the sun while yo...
