Looks like it'll fit whatever you wish, as far as pickups go. SO it's all in the open still...
No hardtail, though, but you can of course block it off if you wish.. Be sure to get a bridge with correct spacing.

I don't know the vid you link to, but deltabluestips on youtube had an extensive acoustic guitar tutorial on this song a couple of years ago.

Re: Advice from Strat players?
I think the freboard can be a tone, feel and whatever issue to the player, but the listened doesn't hear the difference. I personally would go for maple for spanky sweet cleans a la Mark Knopfler or country, and rosewood board for everything else. So, I usually have the rw board ones as I feel they ...

Re: Major Scale: get confortably
What kinda backing would you use playing those licks?
Maybe you ought to try major pentatonic first, that's major counterpart of minor pentatonic. Or then mixolydian (as the maj7 of major scale is often a sour note).

Re: Advice from Strat players?
Maybe the best (="most stratty")stock Mexican strat I've playd in the stores, was Robert Cray signature model. Very stratty, to me, though hardtail. I guess the best functioning tremelo kit for strat is http://www.tremking.com/ but personally I'd stick with vintage. But I never got one, as...

Re: Advice from Strat players?
Japanese Strat are quite good, the export models usually have US pickups (often Texas Special). Export models have (or had) alder bodies and US electronics. There is a good website about MIJ Strats, http://www.21frets.com/ I guess the woods are important, maple and alder is a good combination, cert...

Re: Advice from Strat players?
commonly the later (90s onwards) japanese fenders have had cheap switches and pots. So like Squier, not like Mexican/US Fender. Also basswood bodies, on the lesser models, which is like Squier too. Pickups have been either US made, or then japanese cheapos (on my 1995 MIJ 50s strat pickups were very...

Re: Advice from Strat players?
Go for it. Plenty of parts and kits available. Stewmac.com, rockinger.com, allparts, guitarfetish, etc. One choice would be to take a cheapo, like Squier bullet strat and mod the heck out of it. Of course it has thinner body and all that, but the pickups and setup are the most important things, so w...

Re: ฺBest string for blues?
I use elixer 10s. They have very long life because they are coated. I have them on my Epiphone SG and Les Paul. :guitarist: Actually, I usually don't really change strings on electrics that often... at least the Fenders sound spanky enough with 5 month old strings! So I usually change them only whe...

Spam or not... On electric guitars: I don't care what brand I am using. I've used dozens of brands. D'Addario are available the best and cheapest to me, so I now use those mostly. Also used different kinds of flatwounds, NPS, Pure nickel. all from 9s through to 12s. I don't understand using heavy st...

Re: The future of guitars
The "Guitar hero" sure could affect guitar in the coming years still. The fretlight guitar kinda thing could be one development, a guitar that "teaches you to play". Just upload tab to the guitar and play to it, backing tracks coming from the guitar circuit to the amp as well. I ...

Hey, I have a friend who'll sell you some professional grade brewING products... those will last a lifetime! :D Anyway, I have tried a couple of Vintage brand strats. And I must say I wasn't too impressed, they just didn't felt right for my hands, which of course could be the neck shape and things l...

Re: Buying first electric, need help
For semihollows... Epi Dot and Ibanez Artcore models are a good choice.
(For Fendery guitars, I'd suggest SquierClassic Vibe series. I have a Vibe custom tele, and it's great! )

I loved the song and the album way back when I was 13 years old, in 1987. You take sounds very true to original. :)

Well, in Norway it might be. In Germany may not.
Like BTM guitars offers it for 1900€ (which is like $2300) at BTM-guitars.de.

Re: Ibanez Artcore AF75T - Possible Buy
Ibanez hard case for those isn't all that good, IIRC. I've seen a friend play one of that model live, his has P94s. Sounds good, plays very nicely. Almost bought a red one in 2003. Of course Ibanez is for shredders. But the Artcore are a true revolution. Hollowbodies for under $1000 were still rare ...
