Re: Semi Hollow Affair (A Minor Affair BT)

Pena,

I certainly do not mind! I love hearing all of the versions people have played over the "A Minor Affair" BT. It is always interesting to hear somebody else's take on the same BT.

Torrance returns with Country Life Blues, and Torrance Texas

Hi all!

I picked up Torrance for the first time in a while, and played to some Pete Anderson BT's...

Re: Semi Hollow Affair (A Minor Affair BT)

VB, I appreciate your version also, I could also see now how it could be mellow. This is the wonder of musicianship, once you get beyond the theory and into feel, it is amazing how many versions can be made off of one song, just from a different musical viewpoint if you will. I was trying to pretend...

Long Day Blues (Swing Jazz Anderson BT)

Hi all! It really has been a long day for me. Got up and rode my horse this morning in a lesson, helped my trainer train my other horses, did a bunch of schoolwork, then came back and recorded this... Used the AS73 again... For some reason in a sleepy mood, I like to play jazzy stuff, when listening...

Re: Semi Hollow Affair (A Minor Affair BT)

I like your take on the BT! I love how everybody has a different vision on the same backing track! That is what I love about the blues and guitar in general, how one can express themselves in a unique fashion over the same chords/rhythm.

Gone Acoustic! (gulp!)

Hi all! So basically in short, I've done an acoustic lead piece over Pete Anderson's "Georgia Rocker". I have not touched my Taylor 810ce for about two and a half years, so it took me a couple of tries to get an acceptable piece down without too much error. It has a lot higher action than ...

Re: Semi Hollow Affair (A Minor Affair BT)

Thanks! I am finding that mixing different scales together alleviates the boring factor, because I find that if I play too much in one scale, it quickly sounds repetitive, but if I mix the scales, (Be it dorian/blues, major/minor, etc.), it makes it a lot more exciting. I liked adding the Dorian not...

Semi Hollow Affair (A Minor Affair BT)

Hi all! I see that this BT by Pete Anderson is very well known in these parts, due to a superb version being played by VB among the others I have seen, so I figured here was my time to put my spin on the BT. I used instead of Layla, the AS73 (Eliza, I've named her), on this one, using my same Line 6...

Re: Southern Blues and Schoolhouse Blues

Thanks everybody! I really had fun with these pieces! When I think of when I first started playing guitar, I can vaguely remember the struggles I had with getting the right finger on the right fret, on the right note, and if somebody had shown me what I could do know, to be honest I would never have...

Southern Blues and Schoolhouse Blues

Hi all! I took Gerd's advice and downloaded some of Pete Anderson's 2007 Guitar Center Backing tracks. For Southern Blues I used Little Girl Shuffle, and for Schoolhouse Blues, I used Whitey Blues. I have been working on a whole bunch of schoolwork lately, and some of it quite complicated Algebra, s...

Re: Funk Rock (Another iPad BT production)

VB, Thanks for your kind words. I am trying to stretch myself by playing over BT's that have some unknown element to them, be it a different chord progression or key then I am used to playing. I find if I keep playing over simple I-IV-V progs, I start to get bored, for in the end, it ends up soundin...

Funk Rock (Another iPad BT production)

Hi all! I decided to get back into producing my own BTs with Garageband for iPad, and I created this rather strange, funk rock BT, in the key of Dm (Dm, Am), which was quite strange to play too. I have never played to something like this before, so it was kind of a stretch. StratLover2 http://12bar....

Re: More recordings! Sunny Skies and European Adventure!

Gerd, thanks for your sage advice! When I get home from Florida, I will look some BT's and play to some. VB, thank you! I am always trying to keep my self motivated and working on something, even if it seems like I have nothing to work on. That's how I got through the first three Mel Bay Guitar book...

More recordings! Sunny Skies and European Adventure!

Hi all! I decided to record some more songs, feeling in the mood after having a great weekend, having wrapped up my birthday party here at home, I set to composing some pieces again. I attempted to take Gerd's advice in playing these two pieces to add some more mystery to add to the tension and I ca...

Re: Dreamy Skies

Thank you everybody for your words! Too kind! I will work on the climaxes a bit more, as you suggested Gerd. I believe it was due to it being on the moment thing that it was lacking some of that emotion. I will endeavor to work on that. There will be always something to work on, no matter what level...

Hi all! Many apologies for my long absence, due to college work, working on an accounting course and business quanatative analysis (Buisness math) course right now, just finished up a business law and ethics course. I've been playing a few, and I recorded this noodling with my iPhone, I put it up ne...

Family

Hi again! I have not recorded a song in many months, but now to get back to it, I've started into song-writing. This one I wrote about some friends of mine who are moving out of state soon. I used my Ibanez AS73 with the full stack Carvin V3 amp, and I used the dirty channel for both, but I turned d...

Re: Went and saw Eric Johnson sat night..

The sound was just about perfect where we were sitting. EJ had a great sound IMO. I really liked Gem, Hard Times and Cliffs the best.

Went and saw Eric Johnson sat night..

Hi all! First off, I apologize for the lack of pictures for this show, I had my iPhone, but only my mother took pictures, and as soon as I can, I'll get 'em up. I was so enthralled with both the opening band (The MIchael Williams Band, a new hot rockin blues band, check 'em out!), and the main act (...

Swinging Fifties

Hi all! This is the result of me playing some basic fifties song chords and having a lot of fun in Garageband! By the way, the amp that I am using is my Carvin V3 full stack amp by the way on one of the distorted channels turned down low.. I had a bit of fun at the end, I kind of forgot I was suppos...
