An experiment..

I was playing around with Garageband and the musical typing feature, and came up with an orchestra of sorts, with a live feel to it, and improvised to it. I relied on my musical knowledge from the piano to use the typing, as it works like a keyboard basically. Let me know what you think of this expe...

Re: Christmas Play Jam 2010 video

I think what I'm going to do is have my father upload it onto one of our websites tonight and then share the link to it.

Re: Christmas Play Jam 2010 video

Hi All!

So sorry about that! I am going to find a way to get the file size down from 84 megs to a size I can upload. Anybody got any suggestions as how I can do that? Sorry about that, I'm looking forward to getting it uploaded!

Christmas Play Jam 2010 video

Hi all! This is a video of us performing at the Christmas play in a small town called Pine Valley, which is ten minutes away from where I live. This particular piece is Viva La Vida by Coldplay. I know it isn't very blues-ish, but my mother forgot to record the blues jam we had at the end. (It was i...

Re: Well I woke up this morning, i joined a forum

Welcome to the forum! I'm about your age, (I just turned 18 actually) and my guitar teacher got me into playing the blues. I haven't have had the hard times the old blues masters did, b ut I can still play the blues, and I have no doubt that you can too. Looking forward to hearing your playing, Stra...

Re: Torrance and myself

Hi Gerd! Torrance is a she, basically I got her name from a girl I met in Kentucky. I figured that naming my new guitar after a beautiful girl was a sure fire way to name it, and I am glad I did. The guitar on the right is my friend Nick's 80's Squier Strat. It's a pretty decent guitar, considering ...

Torrance and myself

Hi All!

I just thought you'd like to see a picture of my guitar "Torrance", and yours truly. She is a Carvin Carved Top CT624, with a beautiful birds eye maple neck with s a mahogany body and a 14" radius neck.

Something new... A Midsummer's Night Affair

Hi all! I just wrote this song while messing around with a capo and my Fender Toronado, otherwise known as "Andromeda" (I got the name from the Harry Potter books.) I was inspired actually by a Weird Al song "Ebay", which is a parody of the Backstreet Boys "I Want it That Wa...

I just was messing around with some sliding chords on Torrance, and here is a little song that I came up with.

Re: Friday night gig report

Gerd, I am afraid there wasn't any. My mom was hosting a movie night, so she couldn't come and take video. Next year, there will be video! It was a fun gig! It was my first exposure to screaming girls. They were so loud, I nearly couldn't hear my lead at times! VB, Thanks for the compliments. I thin...

Staring Girl Blues

Hi! Well, incase you can't tell by the title of this song, I am rather young! I am about 18 actually, which will explain the background of this song. At lunch today, a couple of young beautiful ladies, one brunette, one blonde, looked and smiled at me as they passed by my table and sat down on the t...

Re: What's the smallest amp you're comfortable gigging with?

ElMano, I also use a Micro Cube for my outdoor gigs, especially at the Albertsons here in town, of course, it is run wirelessly to the main Carvin amp, but still it gets the job done. I am really impressed by the built in effects, they most certainly get the job done. These days, I find myself playi...

Friday night gig report

Hi! My guitar teacher, a friend and I played a gig on the street corner this past Friday in our little town, during the annual holiday parade the "Parade of LIghts." We had about three Carvin monitor speakers, and our three cubes as the effect boxes, run in to the one amp speaker which was...

Hi all!

This is another fingerpicked song that I just wrote, fooling around, whilst on a small break from my college studies.

Hi All! This was a song I came up with while messing around a week ago, that I never finished recording, as I felt I needed a far better lead. Well, I think I came up with a good enough lead that I can publish this song for your listening enjoyment. Again, this song was written on Torrance. StratLov...

Grassy Hills

Hi All!! I decided to try another fingerpicked song with rhythm and lead, as I was inspired and encouraged by VB's comments on Grassy Pastures. This chord progression is based on a song I play at church "Lord I Lift Your Name On High", but I thought it would be fun if I did some fingerpick...

Hi all! Besides EC, one of my favorite blues guitarists is Leslie West of Mountain fame. If you don't know who he is, here is a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leslie_West I wrote this piece as a tribute to him. I based the song off of one of his most famous hits "Mississippi Queen", bu...

Re: Green Pastures

Hi VB! Thanks for your kind words. I personally would like to do more with fingerstyle such as playing lead more in that fashion. It is ironic you mention the Doors and Robby Kreiger, as I just read an interview with him in the newest GuitarPlayer mag, which is a good magazine by the way. It's funny...
